"We're looking into maybe doing an official video, looking at somebody. It's the fourth and last single form (sic) this record."

I don't like that 'maybe'. And I guess that rules out Turning Tables getting an official release then, although it's possible that's just the USA I guess.

They should have asked him why there was never a video for Set Fire To The Rain <_<

I have a feeling this may be performed at The BRITS because it's now been confirmed as a US Single. They MAY have a video out soon and it flopped when it was 'released' in the UK in December.

I would prefer Turning Tables and hopefully it may still get a single release. If they do it cleverly Adele could perform Turning Tables at The BRITS to send it Top 10. Then with a video and radio play for Rumour Has It, it may also got Top 10?

I heard this on Radio 1 earlier. I guess it's the next single here too?
Are they just pretending the release of this in the UK never happened and trying again? Yay for a video anyway. Stopping the 21 campaign after four singles seems... pointless. If Set Fire To The Rain can go to #1 with zero promotion then you can hardly use "Adele can't be bothered" as an excuse. She can go into hibernation for the next 5 year if she wants and you can still release a couple more singles. Turning Tables can not be ignored!

Time to start tracking the US chart progress of this now it finally seems to be taking off a bit! It's a bit of a TL;DR update again, sorry about that, there's just so much to write about :kink:

Up 12 places to a new peak of #23 on the current Billboard Hot 100 (announced yesterday). Already its 17th week on the Hot 100. Chart run so far:

96-99-99-x(14)-60-82-87-x(2)-78-75-95-x(5)-67-51-39-57-50-44-35-23-

(Glee version [Rumour Has It / Someone Like You] went 11-62-85-x, for the record).

Currently at #18 on Radio Songs and #31 on Digital Songs. Climbing fairly rapidly on the former, although not quite at the pace of 'Set Fire To The Rain'. Slowly but steadily making its way up the latter, its peak so far is #30 (after Glee I'd imagine) and should easily re-peak this week as it's now broken the iTunes top 20.

In sadder news both 'Someone Like You' and 'Rolling In The Deep' have dropped out of the top 50 on the current Hot 100, so by Billboard rules that means they've gone recurrent and dropped off the chart entirely. They could, however, re-enter in the future.

Final chart run for Rolling In The Deep:

68-x(4)-97-84-69-64-41-26-13-18-25-26-17-10-10-6-2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-3-3-4-5-6-9-12-13-14-17-17-20-22-21-21-23-27-...

...-29-28-34-36-38-36-40-41-35-30-36-40-41-43-44-17-5-23-32-30-33-43-49-x

Managed 65 weeks in total, the third longest chart run ever (joint with Jewel's 'Foolish Games'), behind Jason Mraz's 'I'm Yours' (76) and LeAnn Rimes' 'How Do I Live' (69).

Final chart run for Someone Like You (a slightly less impressive 39 weeks):

65-x(19)-97-85-73-57-51-34-19-1-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-2-3-3-3-5-6-7-7-8-9-10-16-19-21-22-11-7-21-24-29-31-39-48-x

And while I'm typing up all the chart runs, here's the run so far for 'Set Fire To The Rain', so far on 32 weeks, so could outlast 'Someone Like You' although it seems to be dropping off pretty quickly on sales and airplay:

88-x(21)-84-88-x(2)-92-80-72-72-90-91-x(2)-96-x(2)-89-74-56-37-21-13-7-8-4-2-1-1-2-2-2-2-3-3-4-6-12-15-

In the three weeks since I last did an update for '21', it has moved 2-3-2, selling 130k (down 12%), 121k (down 7%) and 153k (up 26%) respectively. Stuck only behind new entries in all three weeks, first behind the Hunger Games soundtrack, then behind Madonna's 'MDNA' and Lionel Richie's 'Tuskegee' and now behind Nicki Minaj's 'Pink Friday - Roman Reloaded'. Latest sales boost is likely because of Easter. It's apparently on course for a return to #1 this week anyway (predicted for 110-130k), not to mention being #1 with a 1.8k lead on today's midweeks in the UK :D

'21' is the 33rd highest selling album in the USA since 1991, with sales of 8.64 million. Will be interesting to see how high it can go. The #1 on that list is Metallica's 'Metallica' with 15.77 million.

She best get off her arse and make a video for this.

She only said she 'might' do one to begin with.

She only said she 'might' do one to begin with.

I'm aware of that Bré! This actually needs a video though to give it the boost to #1/top 5 (I think it's possible) in the US and maybe for a re-release in the UK which she has just completely abandoned lately.

Adele should promote rumour has it, with apush at all it would do resaonably well. I am sure the radio stations would play it heavily, all this i believe would result in pushing the sales of 21. At this stage i have no doubt at all that the record company and Adele want 21 to sell and sell as Adele is the first artist in many many years to make a challenge for the best selling album ever in the UK.

If there is one thing I don'tl like about Adele (and it must be the only one thing), it is her lack of interest in making videos.

I mean, artists sould always be enthousiastic about it, a video is a from of art, it's something creative, and I don't get why she's so lazy about it. She's an incredible artist and surely she HAS ideas for videos. I don't want to believe she's just that "stand here, sing that" kind of artist.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the label are thinking, ok Adele has had such huge success already, and 21 is still selling well anyway, we don't want to push her too much and dont want the public to feel she is everywhere. I dont know, maybe they are just thinking over exposure may damage her? I dont agree with this but I'm just trying to think why they wouldnt be pushing for video's and more promo now..I guess the promo side she's done pretty much every show, all the shows have wanted her

Off topic but Hayzayy think i've said before, but I love that pic of Cheryl :heehee: Probably my favourite pic of her!

Rumour Has It US chart update:

Since the last update it's moved -20-16-16-16-16- on the Bilboard Hot 100 (yes, four weeks at #16 - will it climb any higher? :P)

Haven't been following its run on Radio Songs and I don't know where I would find an archive but it's reached a peak of #8 there and is currently #9 - obviously nowhere near as big an airplay hit as its three predecessors but still doing pretty well!

Same on Digital Songs, I don't know its exact chart run but it has since the last update reached a new peak of #22 and is currently #35.

-x-

Set Fire To The Rain has moved -17-18-22-21-29- on the Hot 100 since the last update, so is now up to 37 weeks, two off what Someone Like You managed.

21 has moved -2-3-2-4-2- since the last update. Sales going 92k (down 40%), 90k (down 2%), 84k (down 6%), 77k (down 8%) and 101k (up 31%) respectively - the latter increase due to US Mother's Day sales.

Last week '21' passed the 9 million sales mark - 9,087,721 to be exact - and it also recently passed the 3 million sales mark for the year to date, currently on 3,264,093 for 2012, more than four times the YTD #2 (Whitney Houston's 'Whitney - The Greatest Hits' on 774,761).
