This reaches 100 million Youtube views. Iconic video and self-directed

Fairly sure that's the German import though.

Anyway, it looks like the video has made some difference, the song is now #14 on iTunes, and I expect the album to climb tomorrow.

It hasn't really gained much though. I was tracking the song prior to the release of the video and it was at around 0.31 and it jumped to 0.34 which isn't really much significance, and now Maroon 5 are ahead of MTN on iTunes, even though it was behind MTN before the video release.
New peak of #16 in the UK this week!

Song is struggling to get into the Top 10 on the UK iTunes and is already dropping rapidly in the US and now at #32...

Oh dear.

R1 dropped it from the playlist. C*nts.

I honestly have ZERO idea why this isn't doing very well. She's had MASSIVE promo (X-Factor/Alan Carr/CIN/the video), and she's struggling to even get into the top 15? Add to the fact it's one of the most radio friendly songs on the album, and it's one of the best things she's ever done...I'm just absolutely baffled.

I'd say it's done remarkably well so far, regardless of an X-Factor performance. I thought 'You And I' had killed the era off completely and if this peaked higher it'd only be a flash in the pan thing that would fall away after a couple of weeks.

I rather think that people are fed up of her dark songs and just want a FUN record. Marry The Night isn't dark but some of her previous tracks possibly killed off the momentum in her releases. It shows the public isn't really into Marry The Night as much if after Children In Need and X Factor it still hasn't broken Top 10 tbh..
Does no harm when she puts out a record like that once in a while though, does it?
To her creditibility and growth as an artist? Yes. To please the morons who'd rather listen to faceless "in da club" party music? No. Obviously she wants to make money and continue being successful but regressing back to her "fun" sound is just counterproductive. 'Marry the Night' is pretty fun to me and I'd much prefer she continued developing her sound rather than recreating 'Just Dance'-esque songs purely for 'dem sales.
It's been a long time since a mainstream artist as big as her had the potential to actually make really interesting music and experiment. I doubt she will though.
All I'm asking is a Poker Face/Bad Romance sounding tracks. Judas was close but the lyrics just made the song too dark I guess. I don't mind another Just Dance though even though she probably won't make another one :(
I Hope it doesn't flop in the US, but if it does perhaps its a sign she should end the era and move on to something else.

 #33 in the US iTunes.

And the song only gained +0.2 on AirPlay today :(

I did think marry the night would go top 10. The singles from the Born This Way album are hit and miss in relation to chart positions, but i think it is fair to suggest the reaction from the public to the singles of the second album are weak in comparison to the singles from her debut album.

Is The Edge of Glory her biggest selling single from the Born This Way Album? It seems to be in the charts for a very long time and keeps climbing again every couple of weeks.

Biggest is still Born This Way but I would say mainly because of the first and second week sales due to the hype surrounding it. If The Edge of Glory had that hype I would say it probably would sell better than Born This Way.

Edge of glory in my opinion should have been the lead single, in sales terms its withink 100,000 of the sales of born this way, plus considering the edge of glory was the third single it has done well, hopefully it can hang around the charts for a few more weeks yet and eventually go platnum.

Personnely Judas killed the album for me, i just dont like judas at all and think it was a mistake to be second single, for me born this way, marry the night and the brilliant (im bias as i love it) edge of glory should have been the first three singles and i think the Uk sales of the album might be slightly higher.

Marry the night is very catchy, it may miss the top 10/15 but hopefully it will stay around a while and build up decent sales, it should easily outsell you and i.

"Edge of Glory" won't go platinum unless it gets a big boost, it's not even close to 500k yet.

For me, it should have gone:

The Edge of Glory (after closing the Brits with it as a world-exclusive)

Born This Way (with a held-back release)
