Posted March 21, 200619 yr X-Factor stars head for chart summit 21 March 2006 - 11:08:19 Courtesy of Music week Two weeks after Chico’s chart-topping success, X-Factor’s legacy looks set to continue this weekend with two fellow evictees on course to debut at the album chart’s summit. Retail reports suggest Journey South and Andy Abraham (both Sony BMG) will enter at numbers one and two respectively, both without releasing a single in advance of their albums. Prince’s Universal debut, 3121, is likely to enter within the top five, with Beverley Knight’s Voice - The Best Of (Parlophone) the sole other new entry in the Top 30. The compilation market is receiving an 18% boost thanks to this Sunday’s Mother’s Day, with the majority of the Top 20 comprising of Mum-related titles all experiencing week-on-week sales boosts of up to 400%. In the singles market, Embrace could be on course for their first number one single to date, with Nature’s Law (Independiente) outselling its nearest rival, Ne-Yo’s So Sick (Def Jam), by a narrow margin. Pink’s Stupid Girls (RCA) is set to mark its physical release by rising high from outside the Top 40, as is Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Gold Lion (Polydor), Sean Paul’s Temperature (VP/Atlantic), The Strokes’ Heart In A Cage (Rough Trade) and MVP’s Bounce, Shake, Move, Stop! (Positiva). The recent change in chart rules that dictate singles can chart one week before its physical release is dramatically reducing the amount of new entries into the Top 40, with just four genuine new entries on course to chart this weekend. =================================================================== Summary Singles 01 Embrace - Nature's law [NEW ENTRY] 02 Ne*Yo - So Sick [CLIMBER] Top 10 Pink - Stupid Girls [CLIMBER] Michael Jackson - Bad [NEW ENTRY] Top 20 Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion [NEW ENTRY] Sean Paul - Temperature[CLIMBER] The Strokes - Heart In A Cage [NEW ENTRY] Top 30 MVP - Bounce, Shake, Move, Stop [NEW ENTRY] Top 40 Nelly feat. March 21, 200619 yr Embrace deserve a No. 1 single sooooo much! Infact, anyone correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think they've even had a Top 5 single before have they? Nature's Law is brilliant, but sadly Ne-Yo will overtake them by the weekend :(
