Westlife are hard working young nice looking and decent lads. . . When you sell out 85.000 stadium in a country like ireland which has i think 5 millions population, who not sell out Webley in England which has 60+ millions?? Btw Westlife have 7 consecutive UK No.'1's and 14 No.1's in the UK. Can you match that?? =))) Take That & Everyone. . .

November 19, 201113 yr myxxd the news than Beautiful World is getting a vid and a release is very welcome! I've only heard a preview, wanting to keep the full ting for when I have the album in my hands, but it was deff my fave from the album and it sounded like it could be one of their best to date. Also, I'm glad a song Mark wrote is getting some sort of release as 'I Will Reach You' not getting one was mind boggeling! I hope they don't use tour footage for this vid, I want all new footage if it's the last time, I imagine it to end a bit like Us Against The World. maybe it's part of the contract. I've heard Wide Open and Last Mile of the Way also. both deserves a single release. Especially Wide Open, I like it more than Beautiful WOrld as of now. I know you don't want spoilers ;) hehe just sayin'
November 19, 201113 yr Back to the topic Lighthouse debuts at number 11 in Ireland. Yeah and I'm expecting it below top 40 in UK. :(
November 19, 201113 yr it will be in top 40 in the Uk certainly. . Probably in Top 30. . . THe single is No.3 in physical sales. . .
November 19, 201113 yr it will be in top 40 in the Uk certainly. . Probably in Top 30. . . THe single is No.3 in physical sales. . . I really don't think they will manage to hang onto the top 30, they were at #26 on Friday, and almost out of the top 100 on iTunes now. I predict between #32-#34.

You are funny  They havent done something wow you said? well, most people, lile 99 % of the critics thinks their music is better and i think their sales speaks for it selfs. What do you mean westlife being hard working? They are and have always been a karoke product band with absolute no controll of their own career. Its Pathetic to see that efter 13 years in the industri, they still arent in charge of anything and have always done the same formula with one album in November and toons of cover songs. 5 of those nummer ones are covers so dont bee a Fool comparing that to the beatles orginal songs. the last time WL sold Gold or more with a single was back in 2011 with Upptown Girl. Over the last 6 years, Over the last 6 years of TT. 5 of their singles have eather topped the single chart or selling gold or platina.. Here is the total sales for them Westlife Date: 1/11/1999 UK Position: 2 UK sales: 1,445,000 Coast To Coast Date: 6/11/2000 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 1,659,000 World Of Our Own Date: 12/11/2001 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 1,165,000 Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Vol 1 Date: 11/11/2002 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 1,073,000+ (the album re-enters every year around Christmas in the UK Chart) Turnaround Date: 24/11/2003 UK Position: 1 UK sales: around 750,000 ...Allow Us To Be Frank Date: 18/11/2004 UK Position: 2 UK sales: over 600,000 Face To Face Date: 31/10/2005 UK Position: 1 UK sales: nearly 1,300,000 The Love Album Date: 20/11/2006 UK Position: 1 UK sales: 851,000+ Back Home UK Position : 1 UK Sales : 910.000+ Where we are Uk sales- 620 000 Gravity- Uk sales 360 000 total sales around 10,393 000 That That Take that and party- 720 000 everything changes- 1,300 000 Nobody else - 650 000 Beautiful World 2,801,939 Cricus 2,150,472 Never Forget: Ultimate Collection 2,094,070 Greatest hits- 900 000 Cirkus live- 740 000 Progress- 2,300 000 Total sales- around 13,656 000 So with just 6 studio albums, Take That still beats the shit out of Westlife in Total album sales. As a tour band, Westlife arent even close eather. Progress sold more then 7 times more then Gravity, even their live albums do better and now westlife is leaving before its gets to embarrassing as the sales just getting lower and lower for every album
November 19, 201113 yr This is the band you said are comfortably better than Westlife?? ideJmOH2z4Y&ob=av2e Lol. . . Take That are english and have all the media support Westlife never had. . . Westlife have real fans though. . . Edited November 19, 201113 yr by Charis
November 19, 201113 yr Yeah, you chose Take That's worst song as an example... :P And I hate it but it's still preferable to basically all Westlife singles. Some people just don't like Westlife get over it. Disclaimer - I am not a fan of TT either!
November 19, 201113 yr Lets let popular culture/maintained high public exposure be the judge; Take That 'classics': It Only Takes A Minute, A Million Love Songs, Could It Be Magic, Pray, Relight My Fire, Everything Changes, Back For Good, Never Forget, Patience, Shine, Rule The World, Greatest Day, The Flood Westlife 'classics': Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up
November 19, 201113 yr tryffel have you messed up with the official Westlife message boards before? You reminded me of a forumer there that has same defending explanations about Take That on that boards. And I think you both have a very similar user name..
November 19, 201113 yr This is the band you said are comfortably better than Westlife?? ideJmOH2z4Y&ob=av2e Lol. . . Take That are english and have all the media support Westlife never had. . . Westlife have real fans though. . . well it was a top 10. The video is sure better then all westlife videos. All they do is standing there and Waving with their arms. I think the sales numbers for Take that speaks for itself

Radio stations are so critical about Westlife nowadays that's why Westlife is not getting "maintained high public exposure". I bet if Westlife will continue longer and will release dancepop upbeat trendy feel good singles or be reunited like TT I think they will have like what TT has received since 2006 and more Westlife 'classics' will be added Edited November 19, 201113 yr by myxxd

They were recognized by PRS as the fifth most hardworking UK-based music artist in 2010. Since 1997 when they were still Six as One/IOU/Westside they nearly haven't stopped from record label meetings, promoting album/singles, concert tours, photoshoots, video shoots etc.
November 19, 201113 yr If this speaks for UK pop culture, I think it includes What About Now, Uptown Girl, Swear It Again, I Have a Dream, World of Our Own etc. But on other countries almost all of their singles released were widely recognized. You might get away with What About Now and World Of Our Own but I genuinely don't recall the last time I heard Uptown Girl, Swear It Again or I Have A Dream on either the radio or TV (maybe only on #1's marathons). I don't hate Westlife (I even own a couple of their singles!) but for somebody (not you I know) to claim that Westlife 'have real fans' and imply that Take That don't is ludicrous. Take That are the ONLY band that can still regularly command opening sales upwards of 400k - that's what a major fanbase opening week looks like, a fanbase that's been built up on the strength of around 10 genuine classic, original pop singles (and that's ignoring the covers of It Only Takes A Minute, Relight My Fire and Could It Be Magic which have become classics in their own right).

I know Take That's achievements and I'm not complaining or being too hard about it because it's people's drive and money that put them on what they have now.

I bet if Westlife will continue longer and will release dancepop upbeat trendy feel good singles or be reunited like TT I think they will have like what TT has received since 2006 and more Westlife 'classics' will be added Since when are What about now, uptown Girl and I have a dream westlife songs? Those are covers, and some of them even sold better with the orginal artist. Uptown Girl was a bigger hit with Billy Joel for example. Thats why people in generel got tired of them, bicause of the covers and most of them had alredy been heard a few million times before. Westlife have 9 orginal number ones, just like TT and they have scored those from just 6 albums.
November 19, 201113 yr You've mistaken my identity, I haven't said that only 'Westlife have real fans'.. it's from Charis' statement. I know Take That's achievements and I'm not complaining or being too hard about it because it's people's drive and money that put them on what they have now. Yes I know, hence why I said 'not you I know' in brackets in my previous statement! It was in response to him without me making a separate post, as the two points sort of tied together!

TT are 1 million times better than westlife and saying they are shit since their reunion is the most amazingly ridiculous thing i have heard in a long time! I have just watched the Progress Live tour...you know, the fastest selling tour in UK history, played a record breaking 8 nights at wembley, and filled out san siro and other stadiums in europe? yeah that one! You need a reality check, its not healthy for you to live in your little bubble. it will be in top 40 in the Uk certainly. . Probably in Top 30. . . THe single is No.3 in physical sales. . . It is useless and so in that regard reflects westlife quite accurately You are funny  They havent done something wow you said? well, most people, lile 99 % of the critics thinks their music is better and i think their sales speaks for it selfs. Take That are english and have all the media support Westlife never had. . . Westlife have real fans though. . . You cant be serious, this is a great song, and again so much better than the westlife dross. go away charis you are embarrasing yourself. Lets let popular culture/maintained high public exposure be the judge; Take That 'classics': It Only Takes A Minute, A Million Love Songs, Could It Be Magic, Pray, Relight My Fire, Everything Changes, Back For Good, Never Forget, Patience, Shine, Rule The World, Greatest Day, The Flood Westlife 'classics': Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up And funnily enough TT write their songs, unlike a certain westlife who cant cover songs all day long. Actually looking forward to see their other singles miss the top 75
