Is it just me who sometimes finds it impossible to understand what David Clarke/his actor is saying? It's like the spoken equivalent of Ariana Grande's singing.

Though Revenge‘s ratings have waned in its fourth season, ABC isn’t ready to nudge the producers to wrap things up just yet.

“I’ve always loved the show, and it’s actually a critical brand for us,” ABC president Paul Lee told TVLine on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “We have some great storylines coming up … and there are ways to reinvent it, too.”

That's just typical ABC PR bull, they really are the MASTERS at spin in terms of the networks, spinning a ''100% increase over last year'' (when last year got a 0.7 or something equally dire) into a major positive. Basically that, to me, is him saying ''we like it, want it to do better'' but that in no way means it's coming back.

 

The thing about all of this of course is that IF it gets a syndication deal it could come back. Of course with it being a massively serialised, high end soapy drama it's a hard sell as is so will more episodes really MATTER? Personally I give it like a 5-10% chance of renewal, but who knows, I was 100% convinced Beauty and the Beast was dead at The CW last year and Mindy on Fox this year and look what happened there.

I love it when the plot moves so fast. Excellent action-packed episode. Didn't expect Malcolm Black to bite the dust so soon, but I'm glad he did.

 

Now give me Gina Torres, please!

I'm happy that storyline is done, but seriously.. they built Malcolm up so much.. they spoke about him longer than he was on the god damn show!

So Margeux is the next villainess. I've always liked her, but, clearly she's going to go down. Baby and all?

I'm sort of glad to see the back of Malcolm Black, but it was a decidedly less batshit ending than normal which is a little disappointing. And god help them if they try and stretch it to another season, it basically feels done already in terms of Emily's story.

Emily & Jack (Emijack? Jackily? Amanjack? Jackmanda?) is 99% happening, like it or not.

I too am glad that whole Malcolm Black thing was over before it started, a truly terrible character and the actor playing him was not remotely convincing either.

At this stage you can just tell that they're dragging this out, it's almost like that day after a big house party when the house is a mess and people are slumped on the furniture hungover.

 

I do like the way that whole Louise thing unfolded though, it really brought her character full circle for me.

Didn't realise that this isn't continuing until March! Meh.

Just when I thought we were finally rid of Margaux, turns out it's just a false alarm. How disappointing.

Someone referred to Margaux as "Margaux-away Lame-archal" and it totally cracked me up :lol:

My prediction for how this will end:

 

It transpires that Margaux has set up the hit and run to incriminate Emily and try to get Victoria on side, but Emily proves it was Margaux to Victoria. After this, they realise that their feud was fuelled by passion and they marry, with the final scene being Emily carrying Victoria through the threshold.

This season hasn't been great in my opinion, I hope the plot picks up soon, it was always a show I looked forward to each week but now I just watch it out of habit. I feel like since

David came back

, Emily's character is a bit lost and all over the place now that she

doesn't need to seek revenge on those who framed her father.

off, the whole Margaux/Emily feud is a bit ridiculous, they've changed Margaux's character so much this season, I used to really like her but now I can't wait for her to be written out, I mean she was hit by a taxi in the middle of a busy street in the middle of the city, yet she thinks she can get away with saying Emily pushed her, y'know it wasn't like there were numerous surrounding people that witnessed it or anything :rolleyes:

When I read the start of this I thought it had officially been cancelled. I don't think there's an extra episode, a number of ABC shows did get them (The Goldberg's got 2, Greys, OUAT and a few others got 1) but I could just have forgotten.

 

Anyway I loved the big reveal, I liked that it also felt kind of small scale because we KNOW it's going to be HUGE in the next few episodes. This is surely a total 11th hour action though, I mean they can't have another season (even 13 episode) once all this plays out. At least not in any way that makes sense to me.

 

I'm still living for it though. It's terrible, but one of the great things about the current approach is it's a non stop rollercoaster.

An ABC promo described the upcoming episodes as ''the final 4 episodes''. Now ABC have historically done ''final 4 episode...of the SEASON'' type things, but much like the ''How To Get Away With Murder will return in the fall'' thing, I fully expect this is a tacit confirmation of the end.
