October 20, 201113 yr Author 9 - Plan B - She Said - 105,458 plays This is one of two suprises for me. I do like the song but I never expected it to be in the top 10 of the biggest airplay hits of the last 10 years. rQjh9H-ymK4&ob
October 20, 201113 yr Author 8 - Bruno Mars - Just the way you are - 105,955 plays Amazing song. This really has been a great year for him, and he deserves it. In my opinion he hasnt put a foot wrong. LjhCEhWiKXk&ob
October 20, 201113 yr Author 7 - Lady GaGa - Bad Romance - 107,687 plays Most people thought that "Poker Face" was Gagas iconic song, until this came out. This to me will go down and one of the most iconic pop songs and videos. Im still not bored of it and its still my favourite Lady Gaga track. qrO4YZeyl0I&ob
October 20, 201113 yr Author 6 - Michael Buble - Havent met you yet - 113,681 plays This to me is by far the biggest shock in the chart. I knew it was a radio hit but I never expected it to be this much of a hit. I love the Buble and I do love the song. I just never expected it to be anywhere near as high as this in the chart. 1AJmKkU5POA&ob
October 20, 201113 yr 15 - Kings of Leon - Use Somebody - 94,440 plays Another group that seemed to have 2 massive radio hits. This one is ok. I never thought it was that amazing. gnhXHvRoUd0&ob I thought they'd easily have two of the top 5 to be honest - shocked to see this so low but SOF should be challenging for #1 I think. My predictions for the top 3 are Chasing Cars, Sex on Fire and Haven't Met You Yet. I'm also going for Bruno Mars or Cee Lo as an outside shot... I think Cee Lo, SP (-_-) and KOL will be the top 3 - it seems like a less 'impressive' prediction now but I swear I hadn't looked at 10-6 when I came up with it  The time is now was released in 2000. This is a countdown from 2002, the year the airplay chart started to be published. So no songs before 2002 are included, unless they appeard in the airplay top 100 from this year Ah, I forgot it was released in 2000. Thanks. 10 - Katy Perry - California Girls - 104,912 plays Never really liked this song. Its ok, just very average. She has had much better songs that deserve to be in its place. Well 2 anyway lol F57P9C4SAW4&ob Really didn't expect to see this so high, I always thought this was a comparative airplay flop for some reason! 9 - Plan B - She Said - 105,458 plays This is one of two suprises for me. I do like the song but I never expected it to be in the top 10 of the biggest airplay hits of the last 10 years. rQjh9H-ymK4&ob I agree this is a surprise but an incredibly welcome one  6 - Michael Buble - Havent met you yet - 113,681 plays This to me is by far the biggest shock in the chart. I saw this coming a mile off, it was literally never off the radio for months and months. Radio 1 didn't play it so much but I'm sure I still heard it on there a few times (even outside the chart show) despite them not playlisting it! Edited October 20, 201113 yr by Bré
October 20, 201113 yr Author 5 - Scissor Sisters - I don’t feel like dancin - 117,252 plays This was actually number 1 for most of the time I was compiling the countdown. The newer songs and two songs that were on the airplay chart for ages finally knocked it down to number 5. This really is a great pop song and I still love it now. 4H5I6y1Qvz0&ob
October 20, 201113 yr I Don't Feel Like Dancing really was killed for me by overplay. It's one song that I have heard far too much over the years.
October 20, 201113 yr Author 4 - Cee-Lo Green - Fcuk You - 119,329 plays This is another song that im suprised is this high. Its a great pop song that everyone loves. But who would have thought that a song that generally has the word f*** in would be the 4th most played song of the last 10 years. pc0mxOXbWIU
October 20, 201113 yr I Don't Feel Like Dancing! Really pleased it's so high. Loved how successful it was, and it being #1 for most of this! :o That's brilliant.
October 20, 201113 yr Oh, so the top three are KOL, Snow Patrol and... something else I CBA to figure out. Fun! Fingers crossed CC isn't #1...

So no songs before 2002 are included, unless they appeard in the airplay top 100 from this year The airplay chart has been published since November 1991. The Time Is Now only peaked at #5 and was Top 10 for 7 weeks, so it wasn't a massive airplay hit anyway.
October 20, 201113 yr Oh, so the top three are KOL, Snow Patrol and... something else I CBA to figure out. Fun! Fingers crossed CC isn't #1... Just The Way You Are. Actually hoping for that to be #1 now. It's the lesser of three evils. :( ETA: OHSHT, didn't see it at 8. Not sure then. Edit again. It'd be the I Gotta Feeling. My previous statement still stands.
October 20, 201113 yr the third one would be I Gotta Feeling? unless its already past, I think it will be third, KOL 2nd and Snow Patrol 1st I'm not really surprised by Michael Buble tbh, the radio LOVE him and when he got chart success, you just know they'd love it even more  Scissor Sisters isn't surprising, heard that everywhere at the time as well

Bre, where did you even get it from? Looking at the thread which I will post after Dannyboy reveals number one it wasn't in the top 50 of the noughties!
October 20, 201113 yr Bre, where did you even get it from? Looking at the thread which I will post after Dannyboy reveals number one it wasn't in the top 50 of the noughties! That must be in a different thread then because it was definitely top 10 in the one I'm thinking of. Edited October 20, 201113 yr by Bré
October 20, 201113 yr Author The airplay chart has been published since November 1991. The Time Is Now only peaked at #5 and was Top 10 for 7 weeks, so it wasn't a massive airplay hit anyway. As far as I was aware, the weekly breakdown of these figures is not available, if you know where I can get it from, please let me know.
October 20, 201113 yr Author 3 - Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars - 121,875 plays This was one of those songs that not only didnt stay away from the UK chart, but also the airplay chart. Its a great song and will on definetly go down as a classic. GemKqzILV4w&ob
October 20, 201113 yr That must be in a different thread then because it was definitely top 10 in the one I'm thinking of. You must be thinking of this one: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...4&hl=moloko That chart just seems bizarre. :|
October 20, 201113 yr Author Since I started this countdown, there have been 2 weeks of the airplay chart that have not been accounted for. I will post an updated Top 1000 tomorrow and update it weekly for everyone. I would just like to take this time to say thank you to everyone that has viewed the countdown and posted coments. I hope you have enjoyed it and found it very interesting
