We're in the final!

The results of last nights semi finals have made the people of Altyr Muunilinst very Happy-A (apologies but this had to be done) as Erika sees us into our record breaking 21st final in a row! This is now the 8th longest qualification streak in BJSC history no less.

Our wonderful hosts, determined to highlight the BUDGET approach of last month, have also afforded us a wonderful new version of our national flag:

 I honestly just thought, who knows when I'll get another chance to host so why not go all out! Happy to see that you like the flag <3 Idk if you noticed but I added the initials AM in the middle there b/c full disclosure I love the name of your country! Does it mean anything? Figuratively and/or literally?

It's literally just the name of 2 random planets in the Star Wars universe stuck together because I thought they sounded good together! Always the height of originality and creativity here in Altyr.

Yeah I've been searching like everywhere, but I can't seem to find it at all

With the 5th single from her long gestating new album, finally due out later this year, Miss Li has finally been able to fulfil her natural musical destiny and has been chosen to represent Altyr in the 135th contest this month. We had previously wanted to send Complicated last year but were vetoed. Not an altogether smooth journey to picking Miss Li, we also considered sending Hell With You by Hanne Mjøen (which has been chosen by Varäke instead!).

The Manual is perhaps the strongest offering from the new album melodically, with a progression and chorus with definite tones of ABBA (surely the holy grail of any Scandipop song!). As you might therefore expect, The Manual comes with a massive chorus and an infectious melody and hook.

With in built hype from the legendary Scandipop connoisseurs in FSR Rotnvia, could this see us back in the top 10?

It's the end of the world as we know it...

For our 121st entry this month, we have gone Italian, a first for Altyr. It's no secret (or at least it isn't to the zero people who pay any attention to my opinions) that I hate almost every Italian Eurovision entry since their return, overhyped, unmelodic tripe generally coupled with very unappealing performers. Cut to 3 weeks ago, when I stumbled across this from San Remo 2022 and fell immediately in love with it.

It's not new or unique as a sound for us, nor is it going to win any awards for being a discovery, but it's infectious and a proper ear worm and if it's good enough for living legend Jennifer Coolidge then it's surely good enough for BJSC.
