I was wondering why the HELL do I hear thick southern accent in 'Things Change'. Turns out Bobby Bare is American!
The quality of the field this year is pretty strong on the whole! Not many absolutely spectacular entries this time though. With Love, Something Beautiful, Another Heartache, You And I, Stay, Euphoria and Sailors are my favourites. The latter two are very Nicola Roberts like to me!

Ancient too. He had a Billboard hit in about 1961

Linky pls btw :kink:

MGP 2012 - Delfinale 1 - Ørlandet - 21st January - First rank

9.0/10 Irresistible - Elevator - It havn’t what it takes to be a Eurovision entry, but I quite like it. Catchy! I can see myself dancing to this at a party!

8.0/10 Kim André Rysstad - Så Vidunderleg - This really is ‘so wonderful’! This will reach the final, not because I think it should, but I know how the Norwegians vote!

7.0/10 Reidun Sæther - High On Love - Not a bad song, and it have this mid-table score sound to it in a possible Eurovision final.

3.0/10 Rudi Myntevik - You Break It, You Own It - Boring!

7.5/10 Lise Stokke - With Love - boring at parts, but I like the chours!

6.0/10 United - Little Bobbi - I don’t get this song… I really don’t know where to put this song !

5.5/10 Nora Foss Al-Jabri - Somewhere Beautiful - Seems like she is still stuck on the Oprah Winfrey Show, where she preformed ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’. This is a nice song, but a bit boring.

0.0/10 The Carburetors - Don’t Touch The Flame - And there we got the heavy stuff of 2012, they always have one of those tracks! To get a bigger audience.

Irresistible, Lisa Stokke and Reidun to the final please. At least for now as I have had the first listen.

One of the members of The Canoes was the lead singer in the US group Spin Doctors who had a huge UK top three smash in the 90s with Two Princes! Quite a bit of US influence in MGP this year - I agree with Ghosty that it's FAR better than last year. I can still see all of the wrong songs going through to the final though, Norway have a horrible habit of making this happen :(
Sailors is much better than Red Hot (which I just can't seem to like), I'd be happy if this song was in ESC - I haven't listened to the rest though :)
Blasphemy :drama: Although Sailors is much better than Pavel suggested and would make an excellent finalist, for me it has the most impressive/to my taste production of all of the songs here. Other songs have stronger melodies though...
Oh my GOD. It depends entirely on whether it makes it out of MGP, but I could seriously see Tooji - Stay winning the whole thing!

With 25/1? Although I love the song (too?). I guess if the performance is GRAND... Otherwise it's The Canoes or Plumbo win pretty much SEALED.

As for 'Stay', I want to start singing 'Na na na na na, come on', like in S&M and 'this Russian is making me stronger' :kink:

OMG LOVE <3

Edited by Ljósið

'Si' is probably LIFE ITSELF by the way. So f***ing beautiful.
It sounds like the sort of thing that the likes of Azerbaijan or Greece would send that would go top 5 with ease. Plus, given how few bets probably go on it prior to any of the songs being revealed I wouldn't put too much stock in the odds on MGP!

OMG! at the HOT MELODI on High On Love! *.*

GOD I'VE MISSED KEY CHANGES IN MY MAX TRACKS OVER THE LAST YEAR (Love On Top aside but that takes the piss with them so it doesn't count ~)

04 / Irresistible / This sounds like something Poland would enter that on paper I'm supposed to love but really does nothing for me. FLUSH.

05 / Så vidunderleg / Barely worth reviewing. Bar a horrific Spring för livet/This Is My Life reprisal, this isn't happening. If the reprisal does occur, this isn't happening in a Eurovision semi either.

10 / High On Love / YES

04 / You Break It You Own It / This sounds like an Ed Sheeran B-side, and can appropriately sod off.

07 / With Love / Another entry to the 4 Chords song! Yeah, this is alright. I could see this growing.

06 / Little Bobbi / Minimalist! An extra point for nicking the clinking sound effects from Jentina - French Kisses. Interesting production but the vox doesn't really do much for me at all. Rich is right, very N-Sync...

06 / Somewhere Beautiful / This sounds like it was scooped straight off the Wicked cutting room floor. It's no The Secret Is Love, but then what is?

00 / Don't Touch The Flame / Painful.

What a DIRE heat! I'd like to see High On Love, With Love and Somewhere Beautiful go through, in true Buzzgai fashion. I reckon it'll be High On Love, Little Bobbi and Don't Touch The Flame through though...

I thought you'd have a lot more time for With Love Tyron :o I know what you mean about Irresistible though, cheap and unimaginative generic pop which goes in one ear and out the other, I thought I'd love it but I don't...

You Break It You Own It reminds me more of Mike & The Mechanics or something similiarly 90s and bland, as opposed to Ed Sheeran (he puts grime remixes as his b-sides don'tchaknow!)

Ha, I knew you'd be there to defend Ed! I could see With Love growing with more listens, but it just isn't anywhere near as soaring as the glorious In A Moment Like This for me!

Poor Ed, I've almost given up defending him because of what he's allowed the record label to turn him into :( He's a really diverse and talented musician who is a LOT more than these James Blunt-esque soppy acoustiballads that he keeps chucking out now, I doubt the public will ever see that side of him again though after the 'flop' of You Need Me, I Don't Need You.

With Love was very instant for me, High On Love was too but that was surely a given considering the songwriters behind it.

OMG, does Crush sample Solveig/Dragonette - Hello? Is that allowed? I mean, I know we've had rip-offs of tracks by the BUCKETLOAD but I can't (potential Kalomoira rip-off of the beat of Give It To Me aside) think of a single time a sample's been used in a Eurovision track!

Apart from the actual word "Hello," no. It's not even a sample, it's just a word that happens to be sung using the same two notes as another song.
