Posted October 31, 201114 yr UK Midweek Chart: Florence likely to end Coldplay's chart reign 10:51 | Tuesday November 1, 2011 By Paul Williams Florence + The Machine’s Ceremonials is poised to end Coldplay’s run at the top of the UK artist albums chart after just a week as Cher Lloyd faces a close battle with Professor Green to top the singles countdown again. Island’s second Florence album has sold around 38,000 copies in the week so far, according to the Official Charts Company, about 14,400 copies ahead of Parlophone act Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto whose sales are 76% down on the week having debuted at number one last Sunday. Colplday are sandwiched in second place by two brand new albums with Ceremonials at one and Virgin’s Professor Green currently a new entry in third place with At Your Inconvenience. And there are another three brand new albums presently occupying Top 10 slots with Columbia’s Manic Street Preachers retrospective National Treasures fifth, Rizzle Kicks’ Island debut Stereo Typical sixth and Decca act Alfie Boe’s Alfie eighth. Sour Marsh’s Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds completes the top five dropping 2-4. A very busy week for new albums continues with another four new releases occupying positions 11 to 20, two of which are catalogue packages. The Beach Boys’ Smile is now no longer the most famous unreleased album in history and is the 12th top seller of the week to date for EMI, while Mercury’s 20th anniversary re-issue of U2’s Achtung Baby is in 16th position. With Reprise/Warner Bros act Michael Buble’s Christmas sliding 7-3, Def Jam/Mercury’s Justin Bieber doubles the number of festive releases in the Top 20 with Under The Mistletoe arriving in 14th position, while Lou Reed and Metallica’s Vertigo-issued collaboration Lulu is currently showing up as a new entry at 17. The heavy rock theme continues just below with newly-released albums by Roadrunner’s Megadeth and Universal Republic’s Steel Panther in 21st and 25th places respectively. As his new album looks on course for a top-five debut this week, Professor Green must also fancy his chances of hanging onto the top of the singles chart for another week, even though he at present trails Cher Lloyd. Lloyd’s brand new Syco single With Ur Love, featuring Mike Posner and which was performed on The X Factor last Sunday, is the week-to-date’s top seller, but is only around 1,000 sales ahead of the Virgin-issued Professor Green featuring Emeli Sande track Read All About It, which debuted at one last Sunday. Def Jam/Mercury’s We Found Love by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris holds onto third place, while another Syco single, Earthquake by Labrinth featuring Tinie Tempah, is fourth having entered at two last weekend. Maroon 5 featuring Chrsitina Aguilera’s long-running A&M/Octone single Moves Like Jagger rounds off the top five by remaining in fifth place. Another X Factor performer on last Sunday’s results show, Interscope/Polydor’s Nicole Scherzinger is 16th with the newly-released Try With Me, five places below another brand new release, Ministry of Sound’s Danza Kuduro (Thrown Your Hands Up) by Lucenzo & Qwote. Meanwhile, X Factor contestant Craig Colton’s cover over the weekend of Adele’s Set Fire To The Rain has helped the original to increase its sales by 147% on the week to send it back in the Top 20. October 31, 201114 yr Author UK Midweek Chart update: new sales high for Florence 10:41 | Friday November 4, 2011 By Paul Williams Source: MW Singles On singles the Virgin single Read All About It by Professor Green featuring Emeli Sande has extended its lead over fellow new release With Ur Love by Syco’s Cher Lloyd featuring Mike Posner and now looks like becoming Green’s first chart-topping single. {This is clearly worded incorrectly} Albums Ceremonials has already achieved the highest weekly career sales to date in the UK for Florence + The Machine just four days into its release. The Island album is set to debut at number one on the artist albums chart this coming Sunday having sold around 72,000 copies up to the close of business on Wednesday, according to the Official Charts Company. That is already more than the highest sales Florence’s first album Lungs managed across an entire week. Lungs debuted at number two in July 2009 after selling 63,020 copies, which remains the most copies it has sold in a week, despite eventually spending two weeks at number one the following January. It has now sold around 1.4 million units in the UK. Ceremonials is currently about 55% ahead in sales of its nearest challenger, Parlophone act Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto, whose sales are down 72% on the week having debuted at number one last Sunday. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friday Update Top 40 Only Singles 1 Professor Green/Emeli Sande 2 Cher Lloyd/Mike Posner 3 Rihanna ft. November 1, 201114 yr Wondering how high Lou Reed and Metallica will be, good chance of top 5 today and top 10 by Sunday.
November 1, 201114 yr So Cher Lloyd #3 I'm guessing? Not sure Justin Bieber's Christmas album will peform as well as Buble :)
November 1, 201114 yr Author Manics will miss the Top 10, I reckon. Manics should easily get a top 10 album its their first GHs and most people don't have their full back album catalogue like me, so its a bonus and they did perform on Jo Wiley's Music show and its getting advertised in the ad breaks, I can't see it missing.
November 1, 201114 yr They had a greatest hits in 2002... It is a much superior package though. And a lot more dignified too.
November 1, 201114 yr Author They had a greatest hits in 2002... One that I missed, I only have 3 of their studio albums.
November 1, 201114 yr  One that I missed, I only have 3 of their studio albums. I bought it! Admittedly the new one looks better though but it's far more comprehensive...

November 1, 201114 yr The manics new best is is a complete singles package. All 38 singles and in chronological order on 2cds. Worth the money even if you already own the previous 2002 best of. That best of is only good if you have the remixes cd that accompanied certain ltd copies of Forever Delayed.
