The lead single off 'Walk With Me' entitled 'Something About You' is soon to be released to radio and music tv stations. The album goes to shops in October, after the single's 11th September release.

Lancashire's biggest radio station (Rock FM) has already premiered the track a couple of days ago

 

It's really good :D

I do love her. And this song is growing on me slowly (Thank GOSH) but not so sure about this new direction. Doesn't seem to quite have the same edge.

Perhaps she's trying to fit into today's music climate so is going for rockier songs?

The Sugababes have also said they'll be doing alot more songs played with actual bands and less computer generated beats

Thing is as a result it doesn't seem to be that different from the likes of Natasha Bedingfield. Everyone seems to be turning to blumming guitars these days.

 

Though apparently Chris Martin was back to work on another song for this album. :D

SO cannot wait for this, I doubt the entire thing will be pop/rock, hopefully an eclectic mix of sounds ^_^

All pop acts seem to do this.

 

There was a suddenly-rocky Pink who begat a suddenly-rocky Christina who begat a suddenly-rocky Clarkson. All of them wanting guitars in their records (see 'Don't Let Me Get Me', 'Since U Been Gone', 'Fighter') and to sing about their childhood ('Family Portrait',

'I'm OK', 'Because Of You') because they don't want to be told by their record company how to be any more.

When Pink did it (or when Kylie Minogue tried with less commercial success with 'Some Kind of Bliss'), it seemed like a genuine move to avoid being pigeon-holed.

 

But when all the pop princesses do it, it doesn't seem that way any more. I think they're just swapping one type of pressure (to be a bubblegum pop star little girls will love) with another (to be a serious artist and sing about your angst).

 

(I know Jamelia was never pop and more RnB but the point still stands.)

Nelly is my best friend actually, we regularly go shopping together on a Thursday evening and discuss the best ways to sell out ^_^ :)

I think she slagged off Samantha Mumba and that was it. Hardly an arm-length list.
