Posted November 6, 201113 yr I've been doing some brief research around multiple number ones being in the chart at the same time, and the most I have found is for the w/e 9th Jan 2010 with 22 number ones in the listing simultaneously: Number 1 - "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga reached number one on 19/12/09 Number 2 - "The Climb" by Joe McElderry reached number one on 02/01/10 Number 3 - "Meet Me Halfway" by Black Eyed Peas reached number one on 21/11/09 Number 11 - "Fight For This Love" by Cheryl Cole reached number one on 31/10/09 Number 12 - "Bad Boys" by Alexandra Burke featuring Flo-Rida reached number one on 24/10/09 Number 14 - "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas reached number one on 08/08/09 Number 15 - "Everybody In Love" by JLS reached number one on 14/11/09 Number 30 - "Sex On Fire" by Kings Of Leon reached number one on 20/09/08 Number 32 - "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga reached number one on 28/03/09 Number 33 - "Sexy Chick" by David Guetta featuring Akon reached number one on 29/08/09 Number 34 - "Beat Again by JLS reached number one on 25/07/09 Number 35 - "BBC Children In Need Medley" by Peter Kay's Animated All Stars reached number one on 05/12/09 Number 38 - "Break Your Heart" by Taio Cruz reached number one on 26/09/09 Number 40 - "Killing In The Name" by Rage Against The Machine reached number one on 26/12/09 Number 43 - "Oopsy Daisy" by Chipmunk reached number one on 17/10/09 Number 45 - "Boom Boom Pow" by Black Eyed Peas reached number one on 23/05/09 Number 50 - "Boys And Girls" by Pixie Lott reached number one on 19/09/09 Number 51 - "You Are Not Alone" by X-Factor Finalists reached number one on 28/11/09 Number 52 - "Bonkers" by Dizzee Rascal featuring Armand van Helden reached number one on 30/05/09 Number 54 - "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis reached number one on 17/01/09 Number 63 - "Number 1" by Tinchy Stryder featuring N-Dubz reached number one on 02/05/09 Number 67 - "Telephone" by Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce reached number one on 27/03/10 With only "Telephone" being a future number one, the total of 20 past number ones I believe is also a record. I haven't got sufficient data to hand at present to show the chart with the most future number ones on, can anyone help?
November 6, 201113 yr It's amazing to see so many big hits in a chart at the same time! :o I guess the past few years would rank quite high in things like this, because we get a lot of 1-weekers, but a lot of them also spend FOREVER in the chart. Apparently before you'd get lots of new entries each pushing songs down, but now you get like 2 new entries every week, so songs can stay around for ages. I would imagine the chart with the most future #1s in would've been back in the time where nearly every song used to climb up the chart to its peak. In the past few years, I doubt there'd be a chart containing any more than 2 or 3 future #1s.
