Me too although both tracks are brilliant. 'The A Team' being one of the most successful singles in my chart this year despite peaking at #2. Would be ace if 'Lego House' continued to sell well and provide Ed with another big hit.

 

02 (02) Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love (01-01-01-01-02-02) [6 wks] - Obsessed with this, love her.

 

Rihanna is THE biggest female artist in the world right now. One of those artists who just seems to get better and better with each new album. For eg; even though 'Umbrella' topped my chart in 2007 it took 4 weeks to get there. Likewise with 'Rude Boy' last year. 'Only Girl (In The World)' for me was a real turning point crashing in at #1 and now 'We Found Love'. I'd love to see Rihanna prevent One Direction from getting to no. 1 this week.

 

03 (15) Florence & The Machine - Shake It Out (16-16-12-18-15-03) [6 wks] - Grown on me again, its a good song

 

The big boost for this song was all thanks to The X Factor. It has been holding well anyways and probably might've gone low top 10 anyways. It's just Florence's powerhouse vocals really captured the song brilliantly and that's why 'Shake It Out' benefits with such a massive climb.

 

04 (07) David Guetta feat. Usher - Without You (08-08-07-04) [4 wks] - I like this BUT Titanium should be released!

 

I don't think 'Titanium' will get an official release now but the UK aside, it's pretty much been a massive hit in many other countries. It even went top 5 in Ireland which was really pleasing to see. I actually like 'Without You' more now than I did 3 weeks ago. Initially I found Usher's vocals verging on twee and slightly cringe but they've become more tolerable. :lol:

 

05 (03) Professor Green feat. Emeli Sandé - Read All About It (03-03-05) [3 wks] - Another song thats grown on me

 

Maybe it's a Buzzjack thing but I really don't understand the hate for this song. I guess if this was Nicki Minaj feat. Emeli Sandé, Buzzjack would regard this as the second coming on music. I appreciate male artists more than most Buzzjackers though. I've never disliked Professor Green - his style is quite humorous for a British rap artist and I like it personally. Each to their own I guess.

 

07 (09) Gotye feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (01-01-01-02-03-03-06-09-09-07) [10 wks] - I am obsessed with this STILL, in fact its one of my favs this year. I am so hoping this becomes a hit in the new year, judging from its success elsewhere I think it has a pretty good chance.

 

UK #1 in February 2012? Yes!!! :D Although as it's the UK I'm not hoping for any miracles but this song really is excellent. Likewise, I'm still enjoying listening to this song. It just doesn't get boring, the video is super cool with the body paint and it manages to climb again.

 

12 (10) Lana Del Rey - Video Games (01-01-01-02-02-02-03-04-04-07-10-10-12) [13 wks] - One of the few songs I just don't get the fuss with :(

 

Oh Simon!!! :( This is one of the most haunting yet beautiful songs I've heard all year. It's tracks like this that make me appreciate BJSC and that sometimes genuinely good songs get entered and also win. Some BJSC winners are a bit "bleh" to me but my musical tastes aren't always reflective of Buzzjack overall.

 

15 (11) Marlon Roudette - New Age (09-11-11-15) [4 wks] - Like this though not sure it would ever be a hit here.

 

I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was. The UK can be a funny country when it comes to making hits from popular tracks from across Europe. I'd have never expected Mattafix 'Big City Life' to become such a massive European hit after it's semi flop here in the UK.

 

35. Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger [13 wks] [pk 05] - Shame this wasn't bigger for you, I'd say this will be my #1 of 2011 followed by On The Floor, Rolling In The Deep, We Found Love, Someone Like You and Somebody I Used to Know

 

Oh but 'Moves Like Jagger' has been a big hit for even though it peaked at #5, it managed to stick around successfully. However, it was never going to outperform tracks like 'Video Games', 'Titanium' and 'Jealousy' which were all charting high around the same time.

03 (--) Aura Dione - Geronimo - I absolutely love this, again, with the right promo I really could see this being a hit here.

 

I can only see Aura Dione getting a UK hit if it got a really big push, got Radio 1 support and lots of music video airplay. Her last big hit 'I Will Love You Monday (365)' was never given a UK release despite being another massive European hit. As much as I like 'Geronimo', I don't see UK radio supporting this.

 

10 (--) Ricky-Lee - Raining Diamonds - I like this, her performance on X Factor was good.

 

I was wondering what you meant by X Factor. I assume you mean the Australian version as I noticed it's entered the Oz Charts at #23 this week. I wonder if it'll climb into the top 10 next week. :o

'Without You' has been a weird one. When I first heard it, I was put off by Usher's vocals. The more I've heard this, the more I've liked it. Hence why the single has successfully climb to a new peak after 4 weeks in my chart.

That's the thing about Rihanna imo. Yes, she does seem to release a new album every few months ( :P ) but then again look at The Beatles in the 60s. Proof that as long as the quality of tracks are high, you could release a new album every 6 months, sit back and watch the sales flood in. *.* For me, Rihanna is one of those artists who has progressively got better. When 'Pon De Replay' was released in 2005 I don't think anybody would've thought that 5 years down the line Rihanna would become one of the biggest names in pop.

This is actually quite "pop" for a Nickelback song. I obviously like it a lot hence the high entry here. I've never dispised Nickelback although I can understand why so many hate the vocal tones of Chad Kroeger. It's not a million miles from Ja Rule's growl but in his case, most of his "songs" are hidious. :lol:

'Absolutely Everybody' was a pure pop gem in 2000. I'm sure had I been compiling my own chart back then, that song would've been a big hit for me. I remember 'This Is Who I Am' but never though it was much cop. That distorted guitar sound in the intro sounding like a maniac laughing. :lol:

I sort of agree with you but I think 'It Will Rain' hasn't (yet) suffered from airplay overkill which means people are less likely to be bored of the song because they're not hearing all the time. For me, Bruno Mars was the most successful artist in my chart in 2010. There is just something about his music and style that I really like. His songs are all about the melody which is a key factor when it comes to music and my tastes. Melody over "noise" every time. :lol:

:lol: I just posted a similar comment in reply to GD before reading this. Most people tend to find growling vocals really offputting but they can ok in moderation. :P I think 'WWST' is a decent track - certainly their best single in some time.

Yes, it's managed to hold up quite well. To be honest, it was always going to drop down after it's entry week. It's a song I liked in BJSC but didn't love. As you can tell, the songs that get my most votes usually always chart the highest expect BJSC XXXIV which I hosted. That edition was cram packed full of decent track. In fact, there was one particular week where 15 of my top 40 were tracks from BJSC XXXIV. :o I don't think any edition of BJSC since June has had that big an impact on my chart.

Yeah, these are the tracks I thought were ok and therefore worthy of a place inside my top 40 albeit further down. They'll be lucky to get a second week in the chart as the big tracks from the last BJSC are expected to enter my chart this weekend. :D Honestly, BJSC has really changed my chart this year. If it wasn't for BJSC and the way I've compiled my chart over the years, my chart would be incredibly slow as outside of BJSC there's rarely any decent music coming from anywhere. :lol:

It sort of continued growing on me post-BJSC results but granted not by much. Ahh yes 'For Altd' featured in my BJSC CD Swap album. I still don't know if others managed to download that album or not. It seems like a long forgotton event. :lol:

I haven't. Is it on iTunes? I'd b tempted to listen to the preview clips. For me, Within Temptation's best single for me to this day remains 'Ice Queen' from 2002 iirc. I thought that song was stunning and so different to anything I'd heard prior to that. It makes me smile (in a trying not to laugh way) when Evanescence broke through the following year and the UK record buying public thought it was so unique, yet I've discovered Within Temptation (and Nightwish too) the previous year and thought if anything, Evanescence copied their style (although 'Bring Me To Life' and 'My Immortal' were both excellent imo).

I'm sure they all have except my first BJSC where only 'Mr. Saxobeat' entered as well as 'Riverside'. :wub: Back then, I was in the process of tweaking my chart rules so it was BJSC XXXIV when tracks from the contest made a bigger impaxt.
