Im so shocked JLS may miss out on #1 album, Snow Patrol may stay there! And they missed out on #1 single on Sunday, is their popularity fading? :o

21 still top 10 is amazing! Its still not even been reduced in price!

Hope rihanna can be #1 again this week.

Wednesday Update Top 40 Only

Singles

1 One Direction

2 Rihanna/Calvin Harris

3 Flo Rida :o

Is RiRi becoming the scourge of the boybands? If she overtakes OD by Sunday, they'll be the 3rd in a row she's seen off!

I'm amazed Christina Perri [ATY] has charted and Snow Patrol's single is above her and Millie on iTunes.
Surprised 1D are still at number 1 if the were only 400 copies ahead yesterday

I expect it's been combined with the B side which must have sold a few copies Sunday/Monday.

I thought Pixie would have a chance to go Top 10 but she has dropped to 14. She needs a long weave put in now. It beggars belief that The Saturdays are struggling and FloRida has a shot at No 1.
I'm really happy for Gaga! Hopefully with the Children in Need concert, Alan Carr and the video she can secure a top ten hit with this single after Y&I missed the top 15!
Maybe the report was wrong...basically everything else was.

Maybe it was 4000 copies

I thought that, its strange both charts were so close, the Sun reporting on the JLS/ Snow Patrol album battle today says JLS were a few THOUSAND behind Snow Patrol so I reckon it might have been 4000 units behind One Direction for Rihanna and 2000 units behind SP For JLS.

Cher out of Top 10 in the albums please! :whip:
It happened last week and the week before with JLS and Cher where the lead didn't fall anywhere near what people expected it to but by the end of the week they were both 10k+ away from the top. It's easily explained by Tuesday - Thursday being the days which have the lowest sales, so whilst Rihanna may be selling more on iTunes than OD, in absolute terms she's not outselling them by as many as she was on Sunday & Monday even though the percentage gap was lower.

I honestly think they cocked up the report. A gap of 400 should definitely have been bridged by today! I expect them to be still no.1 tomorrow. With Flo around too, there is a 3 way battle royale tbh!

I'd love SP to hang on to number 1 and MB to retake second!!

On itunes:

Ri is 1.0000

Flo Rida is 0.977%

1D are 0.763

So with that in mind expect Flo Rida to move up to second tomorrow and he should go number 1 by the end of the week judging by how strongly he is selling

Well, I bought it yesterday, once I realised it wasn't on the album...

A two way, I'd say - OD are *so* far back on iTunes that they won't even be close by Sunday...

Buggery, just seen Snow Patrol have stalled at #31 on iTunes so most likely won't make the top 40 by Sunday. Drake climbing up to #4 today is probably misleading, must have been missing data yesterday. I can't see him rising any further but the top 3 could yet be in any order, the fact that Snow Patrol have preserved their lead gives me hope they're pulling away from JLS though.

Noel dropping one to make way for Pixie Lott who must have had missing sales as well, hopefully he can overtake a few albums although I guess Andrea Bocelli might get ahead of him over the weekend.

people seem to struggle to understand how things work. flo rida might be upto #3, but given he was behind rihanna all day yesterday on itunes then he is actually futher sales behind rihanna than in yesterdays update. basically if rihanna sold 10k (sun, mon) and flo rida sold 5k (sun, mon) and yesterday rihanna sold 7k and flo 6k, it means the sales gap has grown from 5k to 6k (these sales are examples).

flo rida is only catching on everyone else but not rihanna.

Although because iTunes is a 48 hour chart, as soon as he does catch her on there it effectively means he's been outselling her for the previous day (splitting the sales period in half). I think he's left it too late though, he needed a faster start on Sunday.

No, it's the same as last week. JLS lead on Thursday hadn't changed much from Tuesday but they still ended up miles behind at the end of the week when sales go up.

there is no way itunes is a 48 hour chart, 24 hours max. when the likes of 1D or rihanna shoot to number 1 in matter of hours this year upon release it would mean they were selling incredible amounts to get there that fast if it were 48hour, more than their final totals showed.
