Am I the only one still watching Emmerdale then? The new credits debuted tonight... they'll take some getting used to but I like them. The music is so different!

The number of departures is getting RIDICULOUS now.

--------Leyla--------

is leaving in a couple of months. Wtf?!

I'm not a regular Emmerdale viewer, but I thought Jackson's last episode was very well done. Pauline Quirke and Danny Miller were absolutely GUT-WRENCHING

Inevitably it's sparked off the usual complaints to Ofcom from the Mary Whitehouse brigade.

I did find Daybreak a bit discomforting this morning though! For their 'Donate A Day' contribution they had Jimmy from Emmerdale visiting a centre for severely disabled young adults. I found it a bit inappropriate given the Jackson/Aaron storyline.

Completely agree with this. Fantastic episode so brilliantly done, took a while to find it online though. I'll miss Jackson but overall his storyline had been ruined for me with the accident so I guess it's better to see him go.

Ella has suddenly become a brilliant villain. Why do characters only become properly great after they've been axed? Every single time!

I'm surprised they've axed Ella - she's brilliant..... superb acting and Emmerdale does uber-cows MUCH better than any other soap. Plus there's loads more life in the her-Declan-Adam storyline. I'd love to have seen her fall pregnant.

The new credit sequence - it reminds me of a furniture advert, still not keen at all.

The character that seriously needs to go is Jimmy - he's been atrocious throughout his whole memory loss storyline - he reminds me of a wooden am-dram performer.... when he's in scenes with competent actors (ie - every one), it shows up his lack of skills to a toe-curling degree.

Also, I'd like to see more of a backlash against the vicar for his refusal to do Jackson's service - they can't let him get away with it.

Pauline Quirke has been truly fantastic these past few weeks. She's always been a brilliant straight actress (anyone remember The Sculptress?), but she's outdone herself as Hazel these past few weeks.

And Danny Miller..... oh Danny Miller....

Well I'm glad somebody else enjoys Ella. She's taken her time bedding in but she's really owning her scenes now. I'd loved to have seen more made of the Ella / Moira rivalry. They're total opposites but Moira can be pretty brutal when she needs to be.

I've been loving Ella too for the past few weeks. The actress has really upped her game and she has become a great villain. I also really like Mia, she's a sweetheart and so likeable. It's a shame both will be going just when they are getting good. I always thought the Maceys would come into their own when they were actually given a storyline (excluding Dermot who is a waste of space and such a spare part.)
Charity was howlingly funny tonight! Best thing about Emmerdale!

I've loved Mia from the start - it's such a pity she's leaving in October.

She's beautiful

When Mia - Eve - Scarlett - Ella - Roz & Leyla have gone that means there won't be a decent female member of the cast left apart from Debbie.

As for Chas - her voice makes me cringe has a face that looks like a slapped arse. Charity is so wooden.

IMO I would axe Chas - Bob - Brenda & Val

You would axe Chas and Val? Charity wooden? Thank God you're not in charge of the show!

I agree it's a shame that lot are going (except for Eve, she's pointless) but there's still Amy, Alicia, Chas, Charity, Gennie, Katie, Moira, Debbie, Lisa, Laurel, Nicola - plenty of fantastic female characters right there.

I agree - Val and Charity are FABULOUS characters, and great actresses, too.
Ya i agree, i really enjoy Val and wouldnt like to see her go, charirt is also good, i have to say though im well sick of chas and debbie and wouldnt be disapointed of they left.
I love Val and Brenda. Some of their lines crack me up and both actresses have great delivery. (I think I'm alone in loving Brenda though as most people seem to hate her.)
I like Brenda, and i agree she has some great one liners, in the begining i found her boring but she is slowly coiming into her own.

Katie is one of my least favourite characters, it always baffles me how she's survived the axe for so long. She's so unneeded.
