Does it REALLY matter? I use 11s for songs that are brilliant, and those three are, what's the problem?

Because 10/10 is 100%, it can't be any better, it's perfect. The concept of 11/10 when rating things is for your absolute favourite to be put slightly ahead of others which are also completely excellent. If you have three then surely they're just 10/10 with stuff below it 9/10, or 9.5/10 at least?

Couldn't have said it better

What do you use 10 for then? 10 is for perfection. 11 is a token mark to highlight one's favorite track on an album if one chooses to do so. There are very few tracks I have ever heard that deserve an 11. Maybe 20 or 30 in my whole life - 24 years of listening to music.

OK, I sort of see it now. I changed my ratings. :)

You can tell that somewhere in there is a great live voice but for the time being she has no control at all and looks uncomfortable as hell/on another planet every time she performs, shame :(
If Lana could sing live exactly how she sounds on the album then she wouldn't get so badly slated. So I have a feeling that "singing" at 2:30 was indeed done purposely rather than "suffering from nerves". Maybe it's all an act but I still like the album regardless.

She must be taking the piss.

The "tasteful" jazzy arrangements don't exactly help either.

Oh so do I, but I won't be booking a ticket to see her live any time soon  I get the impression that these bizarre theatrics are done on purpose too although perhaps because of nerves? I hope she can get over it soon though.

The whole thing's a mess but 2:30 I DIED.

I actually quite liked this performance until 2:30. I thought the Peggy Lee style talkyness was pretty nice. But that screech was just hilarious...she must be taking the mick!

Off to the Races is by far my favourite. I think people take Lana FAR TOO SERIOUSLY. All these dickish hipsters. Its an out and out pop record. And its a bloody good one at that.

Urgh at all the Lolita hate and National Anthem love! I really dislike the latter but love the former. It's a big change from the rest of the album and could easily have replaced a couple of tracks on the standard. Nat Anthem has nothing but a decent chorus and there's no shortage of those on the album.
Lolita has grown on me actually. I think the verses are better than the chorus. I just don't really like the spelling out of DARK and PARK though...think it's a bit naff.
Played it once through last night. I know there will be some stand outs because some melody will surface in a few places. I did enjoy a few of the songs. On the negative side, the same guitar sound is used a lot and it all a bit too samey.

Smiler is releasing this on a mixtape on Feb 27th

Apparently LDR recorded the vocals in 2010 and is only now being released.

I would love to hear a full length version of just Lana singing the song.

oh my god that bit at 2.30 HAHAH I nearly pissed myself.

She really is terrible live. Her diction is worse than Diana Vickers. Its just '-uh-uh-uhu-uhuhu-huh' all the way through. Occasionally 'Honey, honey, honey', which she seems to use in every song.

Unrelated pretty much, but Llama Del Rey has pretty much ended up as a full on internet meme:
