I think we would have been better off going with someone like Roberto Martinez or Brendan Rodgers. Realistic targets and would be able to implement a certain style to gear us towards Brazil 2014 and France 2016

There should also be a policy where players over a certain age can't be picked after this tournament

So Roy will still keep the England job after Euro 2012 if we end up losing our three games in the group stages. What about Alan Pardew for the job? He has done brillant with Newcastle this season
It's good to see the disgraceful front page of today's Sun has been widely condemned, including by the FA. :manson:

What did it say? Seen it mentioned a few times, but no explanation as to what it says!

Even though it's true, and I myself use it, there's a time and a place for jokes. Front page news is not the time. But then again I'd expect nothing else from them.

It's just ridiculous, yes I've seen him called Woy on occasion but it's usually always light-hearted and in good spirit, the front page of a national newspaper is not the place for it. If the chosen one had been appointed no one in the media would've mentioned his twitch, if it were a phsyical disability they (rightly) wouldn't have dared play on it.

Apparently the FA have received e-mails and phonecalls from parents saying their children with speech impediments have encountered far more teasing/bullying today that they ever normally would.

Anyone I've missed out ?

I've seen talk of Jack Butland being the third choice keeper, possibly behind Hart and Foster. Reason being he's certainly got the quality to be #2 to Hart at some point in the near future, and Hodgson's goalkeeping coach has worked really well with all three of them. I can't see it myself though, but it's not a bad idea really, take him for the experience. I wonder how many times teams have HAD to use all three keepers in a tournament?

All this talk is from Henry Winter. The man has lost his marbles. I thought Foster had retired from international football for the time being. He's playing in League 2 football is Butland. He's better off taking Stockdale, whose got much more experience. Henry Winter's England squad is so dreadful, it's an embarrassment. A clearly talented writer, but knows jack shit about football.

Had no idea where it was from, just seen it somewhere. Foster had retired for the time being a while ago, but it does seem like with Hodgson in charge he's more likely to be persuaded to come back. Taking Stockdale would be pointless, isn't that good, isn't that young, doesn't even play.

Butland is the England U21's goalkeeper I believe

Knowing our luck we'll end up with a suspension and an injury, so it's better to be on the safe side and take 3 experienced goalkeepers. Butland will probably be involved with the GB Olympic team

Gary Neville has signed a 4-year deal to become an England coach. URGH.

I quite liked him as a football pundit aswell.

Good move

I wasn't his biggest fan, but he's really won me over this past year

I guess he'll be more of a motivator rather than coach though ?

If he speaks as much sense to England players as he does on Sky he'll be a superb addition. I'm fairly impressed with the coaches so far, having it all completely new, with Pearce rightly solely focusing on the U21s.

He's still going to be on Sky anyway.
