Alan Hansen: "Pirlo is just the best" great insight there

Torress SHOULD be upfront!

He'd be ineffective vs. Italy's defence

I did say earlier, Spain only play to their best when they have to. So good tonight. I don't even think they're playing at their very best yet.

Casillas is the weak spot for Spain.

Spain clearly haven't been out of second gear all tournament

and Pirlo ineffective. Great player, but it's still embarassing how much time he was given vs. England and how much our media hyped him up after the match. Press him and he'll be less influential

I so want Italy to come back in second half I cant see it though. The BBC's bias for Spain is insane.Alan Hansen wow he is more annoying David Cameron nearly arrogant isnt the word really.

Spain were pretty unbeatable, Italy didn't play that well they were dreadful and even Bateolli didn't make a mark in that game. A great match to watch though.

Spain spanked them for sure glad Torres scored.
Felt sorry for Italy, they had no luck at all. Beaten by a far better team though. I'm sure nobody in Italy expected them to get to the final though. Confidence restored back in Italy, and can give 2014 a good go in Brazil.

Dang, why couldnt we have had better luck in the penalties? I think we would've beaten Italy :P

Anyway, wanted Italy to win, but clearly Spain deserved it over them.

You mean the goalkeeper who has gone 990 minutes (16 1/2 hours) in knock-out games without conceding a goal?

I wonder if Spain do a 4th on a trot, different climate, maybe, Brazil could play well in since they are hosting it on home turf.

To be fair Germany put Kroos in so they could match Italy with 4 central players and he still dominated the midfield, but Spain are a different class. Insane how good they are, deserved winners and really pleased they have, they're a joy to watch. Even when they're 'boring' I've found it fascinating to watch, the way they play out of the back is a joy. And Alba's goal is my favourite of the tournament, the run, the pass and the finish - just pefection.

To be fair, given how good they are, he probably IS the 'weak' link. An incredibly strong weak link to have though....

Obviously I didn't expect us to dominate Italy's midfield in the way Spain have just done, but it would have been nice to see us at least try press and make it difficult for them

I'm sure Valdes, Reina and De Gea will all disagree. There's a reason why they can't get a look in

Arbeloa is probably more of a weak link and even he has had a decent tournament

He punches the ball way too much. Excellent keeper, but it's wayward sometimes with Spain.

The climate in Brazil in June / July isn't terribly different from here.

I think in 2014 Brazil and Spain will be a cut above the rest. Germany, Italy, Uruguay and Argentina not too far behind.
Id rank Spain/Argentina faves for the next world cup. Imagine that match for a final.Messi is due a world cup A performance.
