So... hi. :blush: It was going to come to this one day. I was going to create a thread for this.

 

We have a little information atm, I'm going off her Twitter, and she's been nice enough to give us a little inside look :D. They're working on the album, and it sounds like it's nearing completion. Will be released sometime next year. This is very good, I didn't expect it so quickly.

 

 

I'm hazarding a guess that the track we can hear is called 'Work It', no official word though. Sounds only ok on it's own (although I'll wait for a full studio version to judge properly), but that production sounds very good. It's all StarGate again obviously. It is really good to hear a little though, and why I created the thread now, I was waiting for some information besides the fact that she's doing a second album, which came out officially a few days ago. :P

 

*obligatory comment about how Alexis is so CUTE, goes to listen to Happiness*

 

More information to come, hopefully we should have a lead single in the first few months of 2012.

My expectations are that it could flop even harder than Pixie & The Saturdays. "Hush Hush" & the Sean Paul track didn't get R1 playlisted did they, so it doesn't look great for her given that Pixie & The Sats flopped with playlisting. Commercial radio could lap her up though.

 

Expectations quality wise are middling, her debut it alright, the highlights are probably the singles. Didn't expect we'd be getting new material so soon, hopefully it isn't too rushed.

Stop making me worried! :lol: They seemed pretty keen with Happiness and Good Girl, hopefully it's just because Hush Hush was a 3rd single and... er.. they aren't fans of Sean Paul? :unsure:

 

Still, it's not the be all and end all, like you said, there is commercial radio, and she's on a good label, so I hope that they can get it right.

She's hardly a nobody. She's had two big hits in the UK - Happiness and Good Girl and also featured on a top20 single with Sean Paul. I'm looking forward to her new material but not excatly encouraged by that video clip. She needs to stick to pop and not go down the urban route.

It's in the top10 of all time here, actually. Not saleswise of course, but she's spent 10 weeks at #1 and spent 30 weeks in the top40. So according to the point system she's at #9 in the all-time list.

She is kind of boring though, I should love her (I mean generic female popstar, come on) but there's something missing... :(

I don't see it. Maybe I'm blinded by being IN LOVE with the woman, but...

 

As much as I love all her tracks, the only really innovative one, I think, is Happiness (Brazil 2nd Edit defenders, I hear you, but go elsewhere). I'll admit that. I wouldn't call the others generic, there's something special about them for me, but it stands head and shoulders above the rest of the album.

The album was boring as hell, in fact Happiness remains the only Alexis song on my iTunes, but it's such a 12/10 moment that I'll probably still check her new stuff out. She needs to mature her image though, she's styled like a 15 yr old Disney starlet!

Alexis gave me a hug once so I will defend her to the death.

To be perfectly honest, unless the studio version is vastly better than what we're hearing in the video, I hope that it's something else that's the lead single (although it probably won't be). It sounds good but not amazing.

Alexis Jordan has one of the best new voices!!! Happiness is one of the best pop songs the last decade!! Whoever blame her is much nobody than her!! At least, she has a fanbase and success globally. Say that is great too!!!
