Truly sickening and distressing scenes to watch last night, but as was pointed out, the reaction from the whole footballing world really says it all. Absolutley brilliant response to see everyone united. Webb had no choice but to call the game off and it's been great to see nobody challenging that either. Let's just hope he makes it now.

If he went into cardiac arrest as is being reported, there is sadly still every chance he will not make it, the next 2 and a bit days are crucial. I really genuinely hope he pulls through, but having seen this happen before both in sports (especially GAA) and in "real life", I know there is a serious possibility of him dying. Thoughts are with his family and friends. And well done Spurs and all involved at the club, much as I hate them they were extremely classy last night. It is fair to say I think his playing career is over, hopefully all goes well and he can get a job in the game somewhere else.

Time is still crucial, but at the moment it looks like he might make it - thank God. He will still be in intensive care until tomorrow morning at least, but I'm praying he makes it through. Chances are his football career will be over, but at the moment that's second to everything. Just hope he makes a full recovery, and can be there to see his family again. Heartbreaking that he got engaged on Valentine's Day and has a young son. Bolton vs Villa has been called off on Tuesday understandably. And yet again, surprise surprise whilst most media outlets have shown respect to Muamba by not showing a picture of him directly on the floor, there is always one f***ing shite excuse for a newspaper that printed a picture of him out cold looking motionless. I expect nothing less from them, and I'm sure I don't have to name them!

Reports going round that his heart stopped for 2 hours. If that's the case then he may live, but I can't see him having anything resembling a life. :(
If I had to guess I would say it is hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which can be difficult to detect and has caused this kind of incident with a number of GAA players. He will probably get fitted with an ICD inserted to try and regulate any arrhythmias. If that is the case, he should have a relatively normal quality of life, and can still play sports, though I doubt he will play professionally still. I imagine we will hear more over the next few days after they have done a few tests to try and get an accurate diagnosis.

It doesn't look good. I imagine it will be a few days before anything concrete is out. I imagine they will gradually allow and try for his heart to work without any machinery. I imagine he's in some sort of induced coma for the time being, and probably will be for a few days yet. It doesn't look good, but the time being he is alive at least which is good news.

The draw for the semi finals is:

Tottenham/Bolton vs Chelsea

Liverpool vs Sunderland/Everton

If Muamba doesn't pull through, I think Bolton will pull out of the cup.

Latest reports say he is breathing without medication and has some movement in his arms and legs.
Reports are also saying that he can recognise friends and family and can respond to questions "appropriately". It's starting to sound reasonably encouraging.

How anyone can rate David Moyes after that, is beyond me. The guy is a joke. I knew exactly what he would do if Everton went in front, and he proved me right. Jyst sat back and let Liverpool come on to them.

Different side in the second half were Liverpool, Suarez got the better of the centre backs and Andy Carroll probably scored the hardest opportunity he had all day. Not a better feeling!

Liverpool were always going to go through. Only saw the first half, Liverpool's first half and Carroll's missed sitter. Neither side deserved to go infront at half-time but Carragher's woeful defending meant Liverpool deserved to go in behind, both teams are poor really.

Liverpool were out played in the first half. We just don't have a midfield without Lucas. Fellani bossed the midfield for most of the game. I was always confident Liverpool would go through cos Everton are shit, and Moyes doesn't know how to play against the big teams. Carroll's looked a different player since the Newcastle game. He misses opportunities, but he's getting in the positions to miss them.

Have my own theories on why Carragher played. Most likely reckon he is going to retire at the end of the season judging by his reaction at the end of the whistle. One last big day out against the rivals.

Carragher retiring makes sense, I can't imagine him playing for anyone else and he's clearly not good enough for Liverpool any more. He's got the experience but no longer has the quality. Agger and Skrtel is a much better combination and with Coates coming through he's not going to get many opportunities. I assumed Enrique was injured when I saw the lineup.

It affects our game by playing Carragher. We have to play much deeper, but maybe that was the ball. Everton just resorted to long ball, which suits Carragher. Agger didn't look comfortable at left back at all, but by him playing there is sured up our defensive line, but meant our midfield was much more exposed by not having a natural left back. Agger sits deeper and brings the ball forward. I have no idea whether it was tactical or not. All I know is our best defensive pairing is of Johnson-Agger-Skrtel-Enrique and with it we do not concede many goals. Really do think he'll retire at the end of the season, especially if we win the FA Cup.

The sooner Coates is made 3rd choice CB the better

Before people would use the argument of "Oh Carragher is a good organiser", but there hasn't been any evidence of that for a while now. I remember watching an Enrique interview on LFCTV where he was talking about how Carragher makes him feel angry and nervous when he shouts during a game. I think it's quite obvious that Skrtel and Agger prefer playing together too

as for Everton.. As long as they continue with this underdog mentality I can't see them being successful and winning trophies. They crumble when put under any pressure

and Moyes ? 10 more years please

The small group of Chelsea fans who decided it was alright to chant "murderers" and boo during the minutes silence for Hillsbrough are disgusting human beings and should not be allowed into a football ground again. Today is the day we set aside rivalry for what's right. JFT96.

Couldn't agree more. I have zero liking for Liverpool but as far as I'm concerned you're a football fan before you're a fan of Chelsea/Man Utd/whoever and every team is just an icy runway away from it's own tragedy. Fans and players alike

Was disgusting. Spurs fans booed them at the end, as they know more than most what happened that day could have happened to any club after what happened to their fans in 1981. Truly sickening, hope it gets picked up in the media. I remember Chelsea fans booing the Munich disaster a few years ago too. Hope Spurs beat them.

The Chelsea fans really have not done themselves proud at all, the silence was impeccably observed at Old Trafford earlier today, so well done United / Villa fans.

As for the football, after Mata's "goal" I will be shocked if the media don't now fully pick up on the issue of poor officiating decisions / technology and force the issue with the FA. It is becoming an absolute shambles that a sport as rich as football is not using all the technology available to it. Look at rugby video replays for tries, Hawkeye in tennis, its obvious that it WORKS and would make the referees job so much easier. But as long as the FA / UEFA are happy to charge Wenger £40,000 and hit him with a 3 match ban for questioning the referee after the Milan match, whereas Porto get away with a £20,000 for racist chanting, then I doubt anything truly constructive will ever happen.

Is it too much to ask for those working at ITV to mention something OTHER than that incident after the match? Had it happened at 0-0 or had Spurs equalised first then fine, but they barely looked like getting a second after Bale scored and were completely outplayed in the last 30 minutes. Yes, it changed the game but it's difficult to argue that it affected the result.
