YTD Sales Estimates – Helpful suggestions :

 

Please read these notes before you ask. Apologies to regulars for this, but it drives me nuts when people keep getting it wrong!

 

1. While I am happy to answer reasonable sales requests, please don't ask me for the same ones week in week out once they've left the top 100 (see T100’s on OCC website). Also, remember to state specifically what you want (artist + song/album), and whether YTD and/or total sales.

 

2. Try not to go OTT with numbers of requests – I’m only human. :P

 

3. I only track singles/albums that debut, or have charted significantly in the current year, with the proviso that they are also in my tracking range (roughly YTD T200). Also, I’m unlikely to have lifetime sales estimates for items that debuted before 2009.

 

4. Please check the thread before requesting sales estimates - they may already have been answered. If you can, also check the alternative forum, i.e. Buzzjack or Haven.

 

5. My full Top 40 update (with total sales, positions etc.) is normally on Thursdays when ChartsPlus arrives, so if you can hold off your requests until then, please do so.

 

I reserve the right to grant/deny requests that do not conform to the above.

So we really are looking at 4 of the top 10 albums of the year coming from 2 women, Adele and Rihanna. they both have really owned the UK in the last year.

Great sales for Noel Gallagher I'm pretty sure he can end up with a minimum of 400.000 this year. I'm going to stick my head out and say 450k will be his sales come end of 2011

DW&H sold 46,459 - see MW commentary.

 

Bruno won't - he's 162k back from '19', with only 3 big sales weeks left.

 

Buble is 648k back from '19', and for obvious reasons, on one of the 4 remaining weeks he'll be selling sod-all. :rolleyes: He would have to sell nearly 250k/wk for the other 3 weeks to catch her.

I won't know if/where it charted until Thursday - try again then.

Hey VC thanks for the above. I've worked these figures out myself. I just wondered from your own opinion and statistical superiority if you felt it was likely or not.

 

If Bruno s sales increase week on week (as most things do at this time of year) it didn't seem impossible he could overtake. Also the boob has stupid high sales is registering huge increases and certainly has taken it over 200k previous xmases.

 

My feeling is 19 will stay ahead but may be run close to the wire... Seems from the above you think she'll stay ahead too! What do you see Buble and Bruno finishing on?

 

Also the figure I was asking for was 19s sales this week if you have an estimate (pre/post OZAP is fine!)

Bruno's sales were given as 983,075 in the MW report - what's with the discrepancy?

He sold a few albums on imports in 2010.
