Posted December 14, 201113 yr Madonna signs record deal with Interscope Source: MW 11:14 | Wednesday December 14, 2011 Madonna has signed a three-album record deal with Universal-owned Interscope. The Material Girl singer last released compilation album Celebration in 2009 and studio album Hard Candy in 2008 but is set to continue creating new music under the new deal, worth a reported $1million per album. She ended her career-long relationship with Warner Music Group in 2007 after a reported disagreement with Edgar Bronfman and signed with Live Nation for a 360-deal covering touring and merchandise. Alongside the Interscope deal she will continue to tour under Live Nation. A source revealed: “It’s just about keeping relevance so that she can tour. She is still in the demo phase, but the idea is to get the first album out early next year.” Madonna joins 50 Cent, P Diddy and Lady Gaga on the Interscope roster.
December 14, 201113 yr $1 million per album? What a shit deal. I'm sure'll have a nice slice of sales and royalties etc. BUT STILL.
December 14, 201113 yr ^It does sound like a shitty deal, doesn't it? But I'm wondering is it really a shitty deal? I mean, live nation was supposed to do the release of the new album but obviously they do not have the capacity, that's why the interscope deal came about right? Which means on top of the live nation deal that she got, now she's getting another million from Interscope? And chances are, Interscope will be releasing, the album and singles and nothing else like concert dvds/books etc, right? So is it really shitty deal? I really have no idea about things like these so maybe someone can clarify better.
December 14, 201113 yr A million isn't bad considering her $120 million deal with LN to move to them!.
