In the spirit of voting for the best song on the list, I went for Nirvana

Honestly, I don't even care. This has got to be the worst Xmas chart battle in my lifetime. We all know that the X Factor has stopped any half-notable pop act from competing in the last few years but at least it still felt vaguely like there was some genuinely interesting names and contenders before - this year is just a load of awful novelty shite, also-rans and pointless cash-ins that nobody will even remember come the new year... absolutely awful.

Voted for Coldplay by default.

I would have loved Leona, but as it isn't realistic I voted for Little Mix :)

'Paradise is the best of the bunch, the second is Nirvana.

But I don't want Nirvana to have a Christmas #1, any other week - maybe, just not this week. I voted for Dominick the Donkey btw. It has more chances (1% instead of Coldplay's 0.1%) of reaching the #1 spot, besides it's kind of a new entry. And I actually quite like DTD, I must admit. I won't like it after New Year obviously but for now it's brilliant.

With Military Wives currently selling 100x the amount of Little Mix, there's no way anything but 'Wherever You Are' will claim the Christmas number-one. Hoping the 'Dominick the Donkey' campaign sees it debut within the top 5 though - although Alex Day can just go away - Flo Rida and Coldplay will hopefully claim #4 and #5.

As for Nirvanna, what a failure of a campaign, I thought it was going to be huge. Likewise, The Only Way Is Essex and Stacey Solomon should be doing better on iTunes than they are currently.

Flo Rida will be #7 at best and probably #8 or even #9 (depending on how Alex and Lou hold up through the week - I think he could overtake Alex but Lou has free promo every morning apart from Saturday, the top version of Dominick The Donkey is also 59p on iTunes). Olly Murs and Lloyd are both ahead of him combined on iTunes.

I do hope he gets to #7 though because his chart run so far is GOLDEN :kink:

I think the top 3 will be Military Wives, Little Mix and Lou Monte in that order, with Coldplay 4th and a battle for 5th between Olly, Lloyd and Alex. But based on the week so far something else completely random will pop up and challenge for the top 5 as well

I hope Rihanna holds onto the top 10 so she's a step closer to beating Maroon 5's top 10 weeks (she'll re-enter the top 10 next week anyway if she doesn't stay there, but so will M5 (causing them to equal the 21st century record and probably beat it the following week) -_-)

Voted for Alex Day - Forever Yours

In fact, anything but desperate Military wives <_<

With Military Wives currently selling 100x the amount of Little Mix

Where did you get that absurd number from - it'd be outselling Candle In The Wind if that were true.

Military Wives on course for Christmas number one

Published Monday, Dec 19 2011, 12:08 GMT | By Robert Copsey

The Military Wives and Gareth Malone are on course for this year's Christmas number one, outselling their nearest competitor by a hundred to one.

Pre-orders for the choir's charity single 'Wherever You Are' meant that it stormed to the top of the Amazon and iTunes download charts on Sunday, making them favourites to win the race this week.

Amazon reports that sales of the track are likely to remain 100 times higher than its nearest competitors throughout the week, including Little Mix's X Factor winner's single 'Cannonball' and Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', which has seen a rise in sales due to a Facebook campaign.

Amazon's music and MP3 manager Roger Greensmith said: "Military Wives have been smashing records throughout the pre-order period and now that the single has released they are continuing to perform well making this year's Christmas number one a foregone conclusion.

"'Wherever You Are' has no real competition for the race to top the charts on Christmas Day and the single is now one of the top twenty bestselling music products of all-time at Amazon.co.uk, a tremendous achievement for a single."

The choir, which is made up of 100 wives and girlfriends of army members who served in Afghanistan, recently performed the the song for the Prime Minister outside 10 Downing Street, as well as playing at the Royal Albert Hall last month.

Why does it matter who is #1 for Christmas? All chart weeks are the same.

Anyway, I voted for Coldplay, because at least it's a decent song. I know MWC will get it with that sucky song.
