How constructive. -_-

If you don't have anything to contribute besides making sweeping statements that aren't backed up by an argument (and what could also be constituted as trolling), kindly remain quiet.

Feel free to argue why pop music is shit, X Factor alumni can't sing (which they can), and rock is 'proper music', I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

So have you even read the thread? We were talking about rock music making a comeback. Also, technically pop music is whatever's in the charts right now, well, it is with the autotuned stuff, the genre of pop is different to the pop music we're talking about with autotuned club bangers, dance-pop and the like (In fact, pure pop is hardly autotuned at all. Kelly Clarkson and the like anyone?). If then, rock makes a comeback, would it not then be pop music? Pop-rock has guitar and drum solos occasionally. And I find myself able to like a lot of it. I love rock sometimes.

And yet, there is an artistry to autotune. The amount of it we've had means that some good songs have come out of it, and artists are constantly finding new ways to make their songs better. It's rather fascinating.

Finally, I do not... indulge in head-banging. It sounds rather painful and completely unnecessary.

Its a fact x factor singers are tone deaf, you can argue all you want but it is a fact

I agree that you can't head bang to most of today's music, which is a shame (due to no percussion in most songs).

There's no guitar solos in the bridges anymore, because that's not what sells. It just all goes in cirlces. A few years ago, all the urban songs would have bridges with drum instrumentals with electronic sounds or whatever. Now they're all rap verses.

I think after the success of Party Rock Anthem, people will start having bridges be dance/electro instrumentals soon, rather than rap verses.

AT least their hands are free from cramp.

Firstly rock will never make a comeback as to many people like pop and pop is pop you can not have pop-rock it just can not happen it just a mix of two completly different things. As with rock it is about letting yourself free and just like jack black said in school of pop sticking it to the man why pop is all about how everything is bad and its depressing and boring we don't care about that you just broke up with someone rock fans just care about having a good time head banging playing a air guitar.

1. Pop-rock is a wide ranging genre, with everything from Kelly Clarkson to My Chemical Romance (pop to pop-punk). Genres like that exist. Granted it can be talking about McFly style bands, but it's still a good genre. It's simply lighter rock with a more mainstream sounding style.

2. 'Rock fans'? Mightn't there be pop fans who don't appreciate their genre of music that they love being called shit and how everyone should let themselves free and head bang to rock? How would you feel if I went into the Rock forum and started saying how terrible rock music is. Don't be so confrontational.

3. I care about emotions in songs. Pop music is just a valid channel for those emotions as rock music can be, and sometimes, is even better. Although, rock can be amazing for that too.

4. Most of the pop music I've come across is the most happy, fun and optimistic music ever. Rock music is so often more depressing. Pop can be depressing, rock can be fun. Incorrect generalisations aren't good.

Okay rock sometimes does talk about depressing things but they make it enjoyable and people like kelly clarkson and others they are not good they are nothing like steel panther, lep zepplin, Meat Loaf, Motley crue and Def leppard, it makes me feel sad how most people who where born in the 21st century have never heard of them brilliant bands instead they have heard of SHITTY XFACTOR SINGERS AND OTHER SHIT PEOPLE not the proper bands or singers and it is a shame

See awful that is not proper rock music it is just shiity pop with a bit of electric guitar in the background which is probaly on a computer so not proper talent think about all the talented drummers or guitaristes and so on who are out of a job because of all this computerised stuff
