December 24, 201113 yr This thread is ruined now. What is up with this forum? :( It's only ruined if you say it's ruined...  oh dear, guess making jokes isn't my strong point :drama: apologies btw, it was a mere joke when I said it was a serious condition, I definitely did not intend to derail your thread like ramseydawson did in the last one   on the topic at hand, I can probably say music wise I prefer Old Gaga, but New Gaga has made some great songs too, its just its sort of been overshadowed by a wave of overhype... I thought it was quite an on point and well-timed joke actually, it's just a shame people have to be quite this reactionary. Old Gaga (!) is the better of the two, (we are talking Just Dance - Alejandro right?) Just Dance, Telephone, Bad Romance and Paparazzi are 4 great songs, New Gaga only has The Edge Of Glory to measure up to those 4, and she's getting quite pretentious now. Of course, New New Gaga will come back with a wonderful album that will fulfil Godga's prophecy with a 25-minute long music video for the first single. This will explain in great detail how the events of the next few years with Gaga as our queen will come to pass.
December 24, 201113 yr I think to split her into "New GaGa" and "Old GaGa" is not really the best decision considering how different she is as a popstar during each era. If anything I'd lump in TFM era Gags with "New Gaga" as she was closer to Born This Way than she was to The Fame back then. BUT, to actually contribute to the discussion, I definitely prefer "Old Gaga". She just had better songs. Edited December 24, 201113 yr by Umi
December 24, 201113 yr I cant believe how much is has changed. When you see her in the edge of glory, comapred to poker face, she looks so old. A completely different person almost. Its mad! I've never liked her music, like her as a person though, she's a fruitloop. Althought I do like You and I.
December 24, 201113 yr I love Gaga but I think the problem is that she is now taking herself far to serious as a pop artist. All these 15 minute video, the messages she tries to instill upon everyone etc etc etc. Musically I still love her but she is kinda annoying me these days.
December 25, 201113 yr I think one of the problems with Gaga is over-exposure. After rolling out 7 or 8 singles from the first album, she went straight onto the next album and we've had 5 singles this year and a new album promised for next year. She needs to take a bit of a break as the public will start to get fed up with her.
December 25, 201113 yr How can there already be an 'Old' and 'New' Gaga, it's barely been 4 years since she debuted?

December 25, 201113 yr The public will get bored of both Rihanna and lady Gaga very soon. Gaga is first, she is on her way out, Rihanna, probably this time in two years after she's released 19 more 6 track albums.

December 25, 201113 yr I would count The Fame Monster as 'New GaGa', because that and The Fame are so different! I prefer 'New GaGa', the music is so much better on the whole, even though Paparazzi is still my favourite single!  On The Fame, I only really loved: Paparazzi, I Like It Rough, Brown Eyes, Summerboy & Again Again and let's face it, Again Again & Brown Eyes were pretty out of place on there!!! On The Fame Monster, I really loved all but, Telephone & So Happy I Could Die. On Born This Way, I love all but Electric Chapel (Heavy Metal Lover has majorly grown on me!). Also, it is VERY special to me, because I came out on the 23rd of May this year, just as the album was finishing for the first time. I seriously think, I'd still be hiding from myself, if it wasn't for 'New GaGa'. Does that make me biased???
December 25, 201113 yr The Fame Monster is her best work to date. I didnt really like Born This Way as much as i wanted to
December 27, 201113 yr I think to split her into "New GaGa" and "Old GaGa" is not really the best decision considering how different she is as a popstar during each era. If anything I'd lump in TFM era Gags with "New Gaga" as she was closer to Born This Way than she was to The Fame back then. BUT, to actually contribute to the discussion, I definitely prefer "Old Gaga". She just had better songs.  I think it was half and half. It did show some of her excesses (the Telephone video) and some of the mistakes (going too aesthetically dark starting with Alejandro) that would emerge in the BTW era but Bad Romance, Telephone and Monster feel very Fame-y to me. Monster especially seems like the last time I've had fun with a Gaga song, why oh why didn't she release it as a single. Its a bit of Gaga genius.
April 16, 201213 yr It might all change, but at the moment I would say I actually prefer "New Gaga", a statement said by very few here. I definitely like Born This Way more than The Fame, but I'm not sure yet if I like it more than the Fame Monster... The production on Born This Way is more interesting than previously and in a way it sounds kinda more fresh than the older songs. I guess Born This Way is also a little more me aesthetically.
April 24, 201213 yr Her last era was so much better. Nothing was forced, it was catchy, artistically brilliant and cohesive... and that includes; image, promotion and music. Edited April 24, 201213 yr by Tyler
April 27, 201213 yr I disagree completely with a lot of the comments here. Lady Gaga might not be as popular as she was during her 1st album, but I have loved everything she has done. Edge of glory and Judas are still some of my favourite songs from both era's. I also adore marry the night. Completely agree with this.
