Posted December 23, 201113 yr The Almost Saturday Chart is a Mike Robinson Production, based on an average of download sites, iTunes sales & Physical sales. Quick Christmas Cracker joke here:  How do monkeys make toast? Put the bread under the Gorilla, of course! It would be nice to have a monkey for Christmas, but this year we're having turkey again! :puke2: I don't get this one: Driving instructor & female learner. Instructor says' "The lights are green". Female learner replies "Frog?" Totally threw me that one. Perhaps she came from Essex... Top Physicals 10 10 MICK HUCKNALL 09 07 ONE DIRECTION (WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL) 08 05 GEORGE MICHAEL 07 04 WESTLIFE 06 03 ONE DIRECTION (GOTTA BE YOU) 05 06 THE WOMBLES 04 NE THE ONLY WAY IS ESSEX CAST 03 02 X FACTOR FINALISTS 02 01 LITTLE MIX 01 NE MILITARY WIVES 384,000 Top Ten Albums 10 09 ED SHEERAN 09 10 WESTLIFE 08 08 REBECCA FERGUSON 07 07 ADELE 06 06 RIHANNA 05 05 OLLY MURS 04 04 COLDPLAY 03 03 AMY WINEHOUSE 02 02 NOW 80 01 01 MICHAEL BUBLE Top 75 Proper BEYONCE (BEST THING I NEVER HAD) Top 70 WRETCH 32 62 LEONA LEWIS ha ha ha ha (down 54 places)!! A big drop in sales will follow next week & it will struggle to do 700,000. It'll drop further & will not make 800,000 in total all told. Sounds about right. A pretty bad Christmas sales period (without Military Wives) & Little Mix won't get more than 122,000. Next week's album chart will see Michael Buble struggle to hold a top 10 place & Adele will return to #1, says Mike. Really??
December 23, 201113 yr As much as I love Wherever You Are, a 550k first week sale, followed by a likely 200k second week sale won't be quite enough to edge either The A Team or On The Floor out of the end of year top ten :cheer:

I think it'll easily clear 600k this week and do at least 200k next week if not more... (Obviously in the context of having seen its progress so far before I'm accused of hypocrisy). December 23, 201113 yr I think it could beat 600k, tomorrow will be a crazy sales day. Wow at the physical chart - Mick Hucknall top 10 along with George Michael (is this December Song for a 2nd year in a row??). I think single sales are okay - 600k for no1, 130k for no2, 100k for Lou after a campaign....Also in the albums the sales will be quality to see - the NOW album will hopefully break 200k if its at no2 ahead of Amy. I think Ed Sheeran could be no1 in January, though it depend on whats in the HMV sales!!

(Obviously in the context of having seen its progress so far before I'm accused of hypocrisy). THIS Im not so sure about next week, remember its sales are 70% physical so that will be reduced next week, what it sells remains to be seen though.

(Obviously in the context of having seen its progress so far before I'm accused of hypocrisy). I'm going by what the 'professionals' have predicted above with the 550k figure, hence me posting that comment in this thread! They aren't predicting it to clear 800k when all's said and done - it obviously will of course, probably whilst it's still in the top three  I reckon it could do up to 600k this week, I'm unsure about next week because shops will be closed Sunday and only some open Monday so that's a lot of its physical source cut off, which is where the majority of the sales are coming from. Downloads will probably tail off in gift card week as the older hits pick back up, I think 200k is a realistic higher estimate all things considered. It's on 450k as of todays mids and needs to shift at least another 325k over today and the next eight days to push On The Floor out of the top ten (The A Team will easily overtake if not this week then in gift card week for sure). It's going to be close, all depends on how much physical momentum will remain next week...

I think Ed Sheeran could be no1 in January, though it depend on whats in the HMV sales!! I agree, Ed's got far more of a chance than being the New Year default #1 album than Adele, she's already 'spent' far too many sales, what's the betting that a ton of people getting it for xmas will already own it  Ed's is far more likely to be the sort of thing that people wanted for xmas but perhaps didn't get and go out and buy with gift vouchers. 21 has achieved a lot in its time to say the least but I suspect that until the BRITs and an inevitable sales boosting performace, she won't be able to stop Ed leapfrogging her for a month or so...
December 23, 201113 yr Wishful thinking Coldplay could be in with a chance of being a default #1 in January. I mean, they ARE higher than Ed and Adele at the moment and seem to be holding up nicely. I think any of the current 2-6 plus Ed (no pun intended) have a chance of climbing to #1 by default in the new year. As Steve says it could all depend on what gets a big price cut.
December 24, 201113 yr I can't see the Amy Winehouse album hanging around for long, although I'd happily be proven wrong. Olly, Rihanna, Ed, Adele and Coldplay should all definitely hold up though, chart position wise and not sales wise obviously
December 24, 201113 yr Rebecca should begin to fall - with no support other than the 4-week old 'Nothing's Real But Love' - hopefully a second single begins its promotion soon, likewise with Olly Murs; I fear 'Dance With Me Tonight' will drop pretty fast in the coming weeks.
