Back in Merseyside already apparently. Morrati is a bit of a dictator so not surprised he got the sack. Leonardo in charge now for the moment...don't think he'll be much better.

I'd take him back at Liverpool in a heartbeat, but the media would crucify the club and it would be a very populist method by the new owners when dinosaur Roy is inevitably sacked.

Can you blame Liverpool fans really? G&H were mad to sack him. People seem to forget before Rafa we were barely hitting the top 4, and then he took Liverpool to title contenders, and now we're left with dino f***ing hodgson
Not at all! Like you say, they were nuts to fire him and despite the amount of fans who seemingly wanted him out at the time, I'm sure he'd be welcomed back with open arms.

fml, no football on boxing day that I care about...whats the point!!

damn frozen pitches everywhere

As an Arsenal fan, I'm obviously delighted we finally beat Chelsea and that it was so convincing too! I'm not one to cheer on Tottenham, but if they can help keep Chelsea out of the top 4 it would be just too good. Especially after they were being handed the league by the media in October. Their implosion in recent weeks has been fantastic, and I think it's hilarious its being blamed on Wilkins leaving? How about a starting 11 of largely pensioners with no squad depth whatsoever. I've seen stronger subs benches in the Championship this season. Bowyer's heroics tonight were also greatly appreciated :) .

And I think Rafa back at Liverpool would actually be a good move for everyone involved. While I do rate Roy Hodgson highly (just look at what Hughes has done with Fulham), I think the fact he was never really a fans / players first choice as replacement manager meant he was always on borrowed time. Much kinder to get rid of him at the end of the season though, and hope Rafa is still available. For all his faults, and barring one bad season, Liverpool were generally heading in the right direction under him. I know a lot of people criticise his transfer policy, but that was more down to the Americans not giving him cash to get the players he wanted (Simao and Barry spring to mind). Plus, when he did get the players he really wanted they generally turned out alright, like Torres Reina Agger Mascherano Alonso...

It won't make a difference, it's the players not the manager. It may have a moral effect for a few games but it'll wear off.
I hope they still fail. I do think that whilst he's not exactly been very good, Roy Hodgson has been made quite the scapegoat. OK his signings haven't exactly been great, Poulsen is clearly past it and whilst Konchesky is average I don't think he had much choice with him as Liverpool had no left-backs and 3 home grown players, but he's taken far too much of the blame. I still don't think they'll qualify for Europe, the players aren't good enough. Even their big players; Torres has had the occasional good game in two seasons now, Gerrard isn't as influential and Carragher is a shadow of his former self.

Neither of you have watched Liverpool then of late. I have a Man Utd fan as a friend and he was saying "give Hodgson a season", yeah f***ing typical from a Manc, if Liverpool had Hodgson in charge until the end of the season we would have been bottom half of the table, probably thrown into a relegation battle. Poulsen and Konchesky are both f***ing shocking, I don't think I have seen to weaker players in Liverpool shirts for 10 years. Konchesky is never a Liverpool player in a million years. Even though last year we struggled we still dominated teams, this year we have been the worse team even when we've won under Hogdson. He plays counter attacking football, and invites pressure onto the defence, which is why the defence has been utterly abysmal because they're not used to defending for 90 minutes.

His tactics have knocked the confidence out of the players. He's tried to turn Torres into Keving bloody Davies for pity's sake, I feel sorry for Hodgson in a way as he was never a Liverpool manager and he tried to turn Liverpool into Fulham. Of course Liverpool's squad is not great and there are weak links, but Gerrard, Reina, Lucas, Merieles, Agger and Torres there is the spine of a squad. It will be 3/4 years before Liverpool are back at the top again, but hopefully Kenny can give a bit of a momentum to the squad to keep us in the top half of the table and perhaps push on for a European placing, before a quality managerial appointment can be made in the summer.
