I think that's what's kept it higher than its iTunes position suggests every week since release.

...and for that we should be truly thankful.

odd to see Lana climbing the week after the gift card effect is in full swing :P good news though, great to see Pumped Up Kicks back in the top 40 too, what a big flop for JLS :o
I love the Lana Del Ray song, shame it's not done a Christina Perri and yet to reach its full peak.

I think you can blame the lack of X Factor for that. If Craig or Janet had sung it, I'm certain it would have been top 5 at some point.

just hope that JLS misses top 20 now

JLS has fallen 08-13-15 in the three updates, and I couldn't be happier. It's an obvious quick release in response to how poorly 'Take a Chance On Me' did and for that, I think they deserve to have their top 10 streak broken. Similarly, The Wanted seem to have broken their top 20 streak with 'Warzone' (it's fallen on iTunes now, so a #21 peak looks set in stone).

Great to see Taio Cruz at #3 now - I image it'll overtake Coldplay by Sunday too. Intrigued as to where Avicii / Labrinth / Rizzle Kicks / Jessie J and Maroon 5 all end up at by Sunday too - their official positions don't seem to match their iTunes positions (M5 down to #20!)

There is another version of MLJ at no.46 which when combined makes them no.11. It's been at no.11 combined on iTunes for at least 24hrs now and I wonder if it won't even reach the top 10 overall come Sunday if this quite steep decline from where it was earlier in the week continues.

Is there a weekend effect for those tracks that are already benefiting from the gift card effect??

I hope Taio Cruz doesn't overtake Coldplay although it's pretty inevitable. Annoying that Mylo Xyloto has fallen back to #4 as well but it seems incapable of holding up the whole week from its initial midweek position the last few weeks :drama: I don't mind Ed overtaking it too much though.

Ouch at The Vaccines being down to 17 already, I thought they'd hold top 15. Hope it can at least get another week top 20.

James Vincent McMorrow in the top 20 :D Skepta definitely looking likely to outpeak 'Cross My Heart' with his new one, very surprised.

Didn't notice the Chase & Status album is showing up as a climber again :D

Midweek Charts upate: Taio cruises up chart

Taio Cruz is mounting a late challenge to debut high on the singles chart this coming weekend with his brand new release Troublemaker.

The 4th & Broadway/Island single was showing as a new entry down in 11th place on the first sales flashes of the week announced on Tuesday, but by the end of trading on Thursday it had progressed to be the week’s third biggest single behind Atlantic’s Good Feeling by Flo Rida and Parlophone act Coldplay’s Paradise.

Troublemaker is currently little more than 1,000 sales behind Paradise, while Good Feeling leads the market by around 8,400 units. Singles by Island acts Avicii (Levels) and Rizzle Kicks (Mama Do The Hump) have moved 12-4 and 10-5 respectively in the week so far.

Adele’s second XL album 21 remains a strong bet to return to the top of the artist albums chart on Sunday and make it 19 weeks at number one in all, the most for any album since Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water spent 33 weeks in charge of the chart between 1970 and 1971. Bruno Mars’ Elektra/Atlantic debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans retains second place, Asylum/Atlantic act Ed Sheeran is third with + having returned to number one last Sunday and Parlophone’s Coldplay album Mylo Xyloto (3-4) and Island’s Amy Winehouse album Lioness – Hidden Treasures (5-5) complete the top five.

We might lose Foster The People in the singles chart, the winner of Sound of 2012 will most likely pushed them out.

I think its on the back of the Flo Rida track at #1, I can't think of any other solution

Thanks How can JM + JJ UP be that low when it's been in the top20 on iTunes for the last 48 hours??

iTunes (probably) has a rolling 48 hour chart, so it wouldn't affect it so quickly. If it stays there it can probably be top 25 by Sunday but it depends how big sales are.
