Posted January 29, 201213 yr Mourners give a standing ovation for her touching rendition of `At Last` and she thanked Etta for her giving her inspiration. To be fair, she did good job, her vocals were raw and full of emotion. Thank god she remembered the words. Edited January 29, 201213 yr by lookitup
January 29, 201213 yr Have to say, I am disappointed with this, normally I like her so called 'over singing' but here it was just too much, she should have just sung the song for Etta instead of making it another vocal experiment session. The poor pianist didn't know when to come in due to her ad-libbing messing up all the timing.
January 29, 201213 yr Couldn't Beyoncé have just done it instead? It's an alright performance, but as Davidson has said, she has oversung it far too much. On top of that - Christina looks hardly recognisable, she looks so awful.

On top of that - Christina looks hardly recognisable, she looks so awful. Etta didn't like Beyonce, apparently because she got to sing 'At Last' for the president instead of being asked herself. I echo what has been said in here.. spoiled it by oversinging. And she hardly looks dressed for a funeral!
January 29, 201213 yr Author Christina and over singing kind of goes hand in hand, i agree. Apparently, she dividing opinions everywhere over this tribute. I suppose her heart was in the right place.
January 29, 201213 yr Etta didn't like Beyonce, apparently because she got to sing 'At Last' for the president instead of being asked herself. Surely that would mean she dislikes the Obamas, not Beyoncé then
January 29, 201213 yr I have heard reports numerous times of Etta's dislike of Beyonce but they did meet when she filmed Cadillac Records and appeared to get on fine. So I don't know
