March 2, 201213 yr William Hill odds; 9/2 Sweden 6/1 Russia 8/1 Serbia 9/1 Denmark 10/1 Ireland 10/1 Norway 14/1 United Kingdom 16/1 Germany 20/1 Greece 20/1 Cyprus 20/1 Ukraine 20/1 Turkey 25/1 Iceland 25/1 Romania 25/1 Azerbaijan 25/1 Italy 33/1 Estonia 33/1 Slovenia 40/1 Hungary 40/1 Spain 50/1 Austria 50/1 Israel 50/1 Moldova 50/1 Armenia 50/1 Belarus 50/1 Lithuania 50/1 France 66/1 Belgium 66/1 Finland 66/1 Switzerland 66/1 Macedonia 66/1 Bosnia & Herzegovina 80/1 Croatia 80/1 Slovakia 100/1 Latvia 100/1 Montenegro 100/1 San Marino 100/1 Bulgaria 100/1 Albania 100/1 Malta 100/1 Holland 100/1 Portugal 100/1 Georgia Has somebody at William Hill suddenly had a listen to Euphoria and Amazing by any chance? Bit harsh on poor old Joan Franka I feel, it's far better than their usual output.
March 3, 201213 yr I don't understand how Sweden can be the favourite to win when they haven't picked their entry yet. I imagine if Mirakel gets picked they will end up at like 25/1
March 3, 201213 yr I don't understand how Sweden can be the favourite to win when they haven't picked their entry yet. I imagine if Mirakel gets picked they will end up at like 25/1 Or Thorsten Flinck 200/1 To be fair, either Loreen OR Danny would probably be a better bet to win than anything confirmed so far (apart from maybe Italy) I still don't think that the winner has been confirmed personally! Soluna, Tooji and Jedward are the current front runners and I can't see any of them winning at all.
March 4, 201213 yr I don't understand how Sweden can be the favourite to win when they haven't picked their entry yet. I imagine if Mirakel gets picked they will end up at like 25/1 Because it's really bloody obvious either Danny or Loreen will get picked, who'd both be easy favourites?
March 4, 201213 yr Author Because it's really bloody obvious either Danny or Loreen will get picked, who'd both be easy favourites? That Danny Saucedo is absolutely terrible. Such a cringefest. Loreen had better be selected!
March 7, 201213 yr The Betfair odds on Russia to win dropped to 15/1 :drama: Pretty sure every other bookie will follow suit shortly. Oh well, people were betting on France to win last year like crazy and look what happened. GRANNIES FOR THE SHOCK WIN.
It's not a winner, it will get the novelty televote (high points from the UK are guaranteed!) but I can't see the juries falling over themselves to vote for it and even the novelty televote seems to have a glass ceiling of 6th (LT United, Alf Poier, Zdob Si Zdub etc, Verka is excepted but that was in a class of its own even if I did dislike it myself). So 6th in the televote, inflate it a bit because it's Russia, so 3rd or 4th, assume a jury position of 15th-20th and I reckon the grannies might be lucky to get a low top ten in the final. Had Dima and Yulia been selected, as safe a choice it would have been, Russia would have been the easy favourites at this point. The grannies have just made Loreen's job even easier :D
March 10, 201213 yr Odds for Loreen to win are shortening. Now mostly on the 7/2 level and in some cases 11/4 or 3/1 :o
March 10, 201213 yr Sweden vs. Serbia vs. Italy in my opinion. There's a HIGH chance that the winner was chosen tonight. Keith Mills seems to think Romania are in with a shot (they're about to send the best song by miles in their NF) but I see it perfoming akin to Allez Ola Ole or something, the big Euro summer hits never seem to do that well in the contest regardless of how well they do chartwise.
March 11, 201213 yr Sweden now as short as 5/2 at William Hill, who very rarely offer odds as short as that for anything months before the contest. Russia next at 9/1 (not coming anywhere NEAR winning), then Denmark, Serbia and Ireland. Italy at 25/1 and 14th in the odds  Which countries are left to confirm, because with the Serbian song not being quite as great as expected, I'm struggling to see anything getting past Euphoria now.
March 11, 201213 yr I have to say I think Italy are being REALLY overrated by fans. It's just not that good as song, and I say that as our resident sort-of Italian. Would have been better sending L'amore e femmina or, failing that, Emma :kink: Greece, Moldova and San Marino are yet to confirm, and we're yet to hear the Belguim, Montenegro and UK (obvs) songs. Personally I think Loreen WILL do well, but the Russian grannies have got it in the bag
March 11, 201213 yr Russia a lot higher than I predicted, I thought the novelty vote wouldn't really be good for anything past about 8th :o
March 11, 201213 yr No novelty entry has ever won before, and the Russian grannies are far from the best that's been seen in that category in the contest. The juries should further weigh them down so I can't see a win happening for them at all.
March 11, 201213 yr They're not a novelty entry, they're just a choir of old ladies singing an uptempo party song. I haven't seen so much hype about a Eurovision contestant since Lordi. I'm certain that they will be top 3 at the very least.
March 11, 201213 yr Lordi were quite a novelty for Eurovision at that time though. And they won. So never say never :D
March 11, 201213 yr I really can not see the grannies winning, especially with Loreen in the way. But that could be down to personal preference - if I got my way the grannies wouldn't even be performing on May 26th.

But that could be down to personal preference - if I got my way the grannies wouldn't even be performing on May 26th. Same here, even taking the grannies out of the equation who are very charming, musically it's not that great for me and this IS a song contest, but then opinions are subjective and I see that other people have it very high in their rankings so fair enough. I hated Dancing Lasha Tumbai too, and with a passion but it had a very strong melody at least and the song stood up to the novelty gimmick packaging. In my mind the Russian entry IS novelty, if the UK were sending a troop of grannies singing Europop then it would be so I don't see why it's any different for Russia. If it was a troop of grannies singing an authentic Russian folk song then I could see why it might not be but there's nothing that isn't novelty about them breaking out into a party song with Scooch-esque production.
