Hi Richard :D

1. Prance Faris - Flares (3) (CR-31-15-9-2-3-3-1)

2. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium (1) (CR-4-1-2-3-7-12-18-23-29-32-29-39-OUT-33-27-19-5-1-1-2) Longest Runner

Popularity Bars

lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll 1. Prance Faris - Flares

llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll 2. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium

lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll 3. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

Wow, literally seperated by one pop bar each - that's one close top 3...but what a top 3. :D 'Flares' is definitely one of my top 5 tips to win - it's always difficult to know how everyone will vote, and I'm aware dance music has usually had this glass ceiling preventing it from victory. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see 'Flares' get a push at some point in 2012 in the UK. Where it's taken almost 5 months for 'Titanium' and 'STIUTK' to make it big here, perhaps we'll see 'Flares' top 5 on UK iTunes in July 2012. :D

5. Marigold - You & I Know (9) (CR-18-14-11-21-9-5)

I'm sure Caerfyrddia will be delighted to know what I've predicted to qualify but I don't see this song winning the contest.

8. Ed Sheeran - Drunk (12) (CR-73-OUT-42-32-12-8)

If 'Drunk' maks the official UK top 10 then that proves just how much of a breakthrough artist Ed Sheeran has been. Most artists get one big hit then struggle to sustain their popularity with subsequent single releases. I just think the record company have done Ed justice by releasing four decent tracks. I may have not been the biggest fan of 'You Need Me' but I think that helped show two sides to Ed whilst 'Lego House', as you know, became my fave single that was released last year. I like 'Drunk' but I think it's safe to say this won't be a chart topper for me.

9. Moa Lignell - When I Held Ya (10) (CR-10-9)

I knew I'd recognised this name from somewhere when I saw the SF2 tracks. Currently #1 on Sweden's iTunes, it's a shame that their download data isn't included in their singles chart as I don't think Sweden have an accurate representation of what is popular.

18. Tone Damli - Look Back (28) (CR-28-18)

This is back up to #3 on Norway's iTunes so it might well return to the top in a couple of days. I don't really want to comment on the SF1 at the risk of completely giving away which tracks I like the most. All I will say is I've ordered all 22 songs into a provisional order and this appears in the top half. :D

22. Flo Rida feat Sia - Wild Ones (26) (CR-26-12-10-17-28-26-22)

Sia really does make this song. It's like a more urban sequel to 'Titanium' and like we've been discussing in the iTunes chart amongst other threads, it's just great to see Sia getting recognition.

24. Lana Del Rey - National Anthem (36) (CR-36-24)

Ahh, interesting to see this doing well. I've not purchased the album but by tonight that may well be a different case. :D From the 90 second preview this does sound like a great track.

29. Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) (13) (CR-55-OUT-23-13-7-11-24-36-31-33-32-21-11-3-4-7-13-29)

Wow, that's some drop!!! :o I don't see Kelly Clarkson this much of a plummet in my chart anytime soon. This is still one of my fave singles around at the moment.

33. Nightwish - Turn Loose The Mermaids (NEW) (CR-33)

The first time I listened to this, it made me think of Eurovision winner 'Nocturn' which has always been one of my fave Eurovision winners of all time. Another track from SF2 I've predicted to qualify.

34. Emeli Sandé - Next To Me (Re-entry) (CR-40-OUT-34)

I really like this and reckon this will give Emeli her biggest hit to date in my chart. I also think this is going to be a massive hit in the UK charts too. A future #1? It could well happen if this is performed at The Brit Awards.

40. Lena Philipsson - Live Tomorrow (NEW) (CR-40)

46. Dia Frampton - Billy The Kid (NEW) (CR-46)

50. Ria Ritchie - Only One (NEW) (CR-50)

Three more tracks I've predicted to make it through to the BJSC final.

No re-entry for Studio Killers? :o

Good chart, apart from the lack of The Storm :kink:

Thanks Tom, yeah My Crown came and left my chart ages ago, and as with Call Me Maybe, Youth, Ode To The Bouncer and Who's Gonna Love Me which are all in the same situation I had no reason to rechart them. HOWEVER, the same thing happened with Young London's Let Me Go in the last contest but that still got my 10 points in the final so never fear - my points are based on a mixture of current likes, new discoveries and overall strength of the song/how much I've liked it in the past - don't take my chart positions as gospel for the points that I give out because they never match up!

Nice to see you liking No Excuses :D And Work is a great song, better than the last song I heard by The 2 Bears! I'd LOVE to see You're Not Alone win in Estonia, it's so instantly catchy. Not sure if they'll manage it though as I haven't been following the odds or anything...Echo (You & I) is great but I expect it will take a while to peak in my affections, whereas Denmark and Cyprus' entries probably already have  Tonight is a real slow burner, I like it a lot and get what you mean about the lyrics, very thoughtful. As for Alexandra, it's been shoved down by default really, I just haven't listened to it much this week - I'm not going off it, I just need it in proper HQ I think.

I'm loving Lana's album  I was looking for your new purchases thread topic yesterday to post the album in there, no topic was posted on Sunday :( unless I'm missing something

Thanks Martin, Vidcapper stole my music purchases thread topic  It's in the chart forum but he started it this week, I usually do it Sunday morning but I wasn't up at 7am like he was  Gotye, Guetta and Prance were SO close, the former almost did return to #1!

OMG at #50 :o

 seems like I will get some support from Rontvia...can't remember when it was last time :kink:

It's a great song Addy, get it into the final and coveted Rontvian points are all yours :o Sorry about that, I guess Kim Lian was the last time - a lot of your 2011 entries were either songs that I'd hear before and become bored of or very niche songs which I didn't 'get'. I always vote on the song and not the country though so if you send my favourite song there you'll get a 12, simple as that :P

Hi Richard :D

1. Prance Faris - Flares (3) (CR-31-15-9-2-3-3-1)

2. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium (1) (CR-4-1-2-3-7-12-18-23-29-32-29-39-OUT-33-27-19-5-1-1-2) Longest Runner

3. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (2) (CR-60-48-44-39-OUT-27-19-13-9-2-1-1-1-2-2-3)

Thanks Hits, I absolutely ADORE these three songs, they've been my top three for weeks now and this time it was the turn of Flares to get its chance at #1 :D Such a euphoric and likeable dance track and it could be huge in the UK but it's had no hype over it whatsoever, the video (uploaded by the artist themselves) on Youtube has had little over 200 views and a lot of them will be from it being in BJSC. I'm going on a mission to make this song a hit, I can either badger AATW with it or alternatively do a dance routine on Britain's Got Talent with this as my backing track  I don't see Flares winning, I think the 'glass ceiling' for it is third place perhaps with Carly Rae Jepsen and SoSo looking most likely to wind up the top two this month, but I'd LOVE to see it appeal to a wide range of people, and hopefully it can pick up at least a couple of 12's! I can't be the only person this addicted to the song!

5. This is a real grower, I saw it at #1 in Ghosty's chart ages ago, listened and loved it, but it still gets better each time. But no, it's not got enough widespread appeal to win BJSC.

8. Drunk is another strong single from +, it probably won't give him his fourth #1 in my chart (Delta preserves her record ) but it ticks most of the boxes of what the public expect from an Ed Sheeran single!

9. Indeed, Moa came third in last year's Swedish Idol, she performed this self written track on one of the live weeks and it had built up a massive demand. The whole of Sweden (and me) have been waiting patiently for the studio version since November, hence it crashing straight into my top ten last week.

18. I've always liked Tone Damli, she's had a #1 hit in my chart with Butterflies (which finished a VERY distant second to Fairytale in Norway's MGP 2009) and two other top ten hits so far, will Look Back become her fourth?

22. It will never be a HUGE hit for me but nevertheless I do really like Wild Ones, far more for Sia than Flo Rida's verses (why do all of his verses in all of his songs sound EXACTLY the same?)

24. It's definitely an album highlight, I hope it's a single. Can't believe it was written by David Sneddon though!

29. Eurovision season brings these huge drops every year, I love Stronger but there are 28 other songs that I've listened to more this week!

33. A very interesting comparison and I can see where you're coming from! This MUST make the final.

34. I don't recall any new artist ever performing their new single at the BRITs, what makes you think that Emeli will perform this there? :o It's a big grower though, far better than the limp and lifeless Daddy and a very different sound to her previous two singles.

As for Studio Killers, I'm going to quote what I said to Tom who asked why I wasn't re-charting My Crown as the same applies to you;

Brilliant as usual! Shockingly close top 3 :o Same as mine this week actually (though not the same songs of course, though one of them is the same)!

Thanks Liam!

1. That's ok, I remember that you said you weren't a fan of Avicii/Sash! in one of my former threads, I've always adored this type of dance, one of my favourite sub genres. Obviously I can't appeal to all of the people all of the time, despite what some people may think! Im glad you quite like it though! Has there been mass love for it? Aside from the great odds, I haven't seen many actual comments passed on it, it's all been about three of the other favourites - Tone, Carly and SoSo. I know The Storm and Foxes are the other favourites but I've not noticed much discussion about them so far...

2. It's about bloody time! Radio MUST support her next album!

8. I doubt it will ever top his first three singles for me but it's a fantastic fourth single and his SEVENTH top ten for me in little over six months, dear god, I'm like all of the other loons on the forum!

10. I'd be happy with any of the front runners winning MGP, I love them all!

30. Either the video or the song in real iTunes HQ, not noticed much hype around this song at all so far...

33. How so, do you usually dislike them? I've liked a few of their songs in the past but this is a really excellent one!

46. I have to admit, I think I may have underrated it to start with. I think it will finish between 5th and 10th in the results (if some of the aformentioned favourites fail to live up to the hype - and there are always a few that do)

47. I had to search way back for its old chart run, I know it had a decent run in my top ten but I'd forgotten about its swift exit  I hope it can be a UK hit somehow!

Thanks Liam!

1. Well maybe not mass love, I worded that a bit wrong :P Though I think that odds and love do go hand in hand? Maybe. I don't even know what I'm on about now

2. Ikr! I can see her being a Keri Hilson type (never thought I'd make that comparison ), maybe one solo hit... :(

33. Yes, I'm really not a fan - Storytime was awful and Regina kept trying to make me love it  This however is great and I also heard another song called The Owl, The Crow and The Dove in a simlar vein which I liked a lot!

46. I really do hope that it can at least go top 10, I really love it right now, and when I entered it I thought maybe mid-table atbest, good to see things looking good!

Hey Rich :D heres what I like, half expected your top 6 to be the same as the UK's atm

Hello Rich,

Due to a conversation up the page... checking out Nocturn right now! Amazing, and I can see where you are coming from, Hits, that's beautiful. And a little  that Turn Loose The Mermaids is being compared to that. The instrumental parts of Turn Loose The Mermaids sound similar though. :o

1. Prance Faris - Flares (3) (CR-31-15-9-2-3-3-1) - Excellent #1, nice to see some excellent dance getting entered. I hope it does as well as everyone says it will.

4. Elisa's - Linjen I Min Hand (4) (CR-4-4) - I did manage to find the album, so I'm getting into this quite a lot, I've hardly heard anything else yet, but from what I've heard seems to be quite diverse, not what I was expecting there.

5. Marigold - You & I Know (9) (CR-18-14-11-21-9-5)

7. Minnie-Oh - You & I (7) (CR-4-7-7)

24. Lana Del Rey - National Anthem (36) (CR-36-24)

27. The 2 Bears - Work (NEW) (CR-27) - Love this, considering how bad I thought Bear Hug was, this is rather epic in many ways. No idea what the random female voice is doing at the end though.

28. Emma Lewin - No Excuses (18) (CR-10-18-28)

29. Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) (13) (CR-55-OUT-23-13-7-11-24-36-31-33-32-21-11-3-4-7-13-29)

33. Nightwish - Turn Loose The Mermaids (NEW) (CR-33) - So pleased to see that so many people are liking this, I had no idea it would have support seemingly coming from everywhere. I confirmed this originally, but almost changed right at the end (as far as sending Freeze a PM, but then hastily backing out when I gave Turn Loose The Mermaids one final listen), very pleased I didn't though, seeing the reaction I've received.

1. I know what you mean, although following some of the discussion in the BJSC forum I wonder if people just plonk me high in the odds on reputation alone :drama: I guess there's a difference though between getting odds of 3/1 for having a strong song and odds of 12/1 just for being FSR Rontvia...

2. She'll be lucky if she gets that, but I can see where you're coming from!

33. I quite liked Storytime  I have little desire to listen to their back catalogue though, most of what I've heard in the past doesn't excite me much.

46. It helps that it's an interesting sounding pop song in amongst a SEA of generic. So many countries this month have picked the most plodding unexciting cheap electro-pop to enter, when you get to Billy The Kid it sounds incredible!

Thanks Simon, haha, I'm liking pretty much all of the top ten in the UK right now but they've all been doing well in my chart at various stages rather than all in tandem with the UK chart. One Thing is brilliant

Excellent chart! ^_^

Thanks Eyes, I'd not considered the Nocturne comparison but it's a good one and it's nice to hear that you like that - my older sister's favourite Eurovision winner - she bought all of that group's albums after that

1. Thanks Eyes, it's been a while since I entered an out and out dance song, Om Sanningen Ska Fram was I guess but this seems more 'pure' dance somehow...we'll see how it does but I'll be happy with top ten seeing as dance often struggles in BJSC...

4. I like the album but it's nothing like this is it  It's a sort swaying country and line dancing sound for the most part, none of the other songs are good enough for my chart but as a whole it's decent enough, if not strictly my type of music!

27. Couldn't agree more, Bear Hug was dire but this is really good, hope it qualifies!

33. I guess you could be a dark horse here, looks like you might finish top ten! It's a very inspired entry and a great choice, the music is fantastic and it's completely different to the usual BJSC norm, perhaps my favourite entry of yours so far!

40. I love Lena Philipsson, It Hurts was a #2 in my chart in 2004 and she's had a smattering of hits since. This is a cover of a Laleh song, I loved that version too

49. Lana Del Rey - Carmen (NEW) (CR-49)

Sorry, but Anggun`s song is MUUUUUUUUUUUCH worse than "Cesse La Pluie" :P Great chart!

40. I love Lena Philipsson, It Hurts was a #2 in my chart in 2004 and she's had a smattering of hits since. This is a cover of a Laleh song, I loved that version too

1. I'm pretty sure it'll do well, the instrumental is accessible to all areas, I think. I can see where you are coming from with the 'pure' dance angle, must be the vocals.

4. Yep, Lingen I Min Hand is in another league. I'll have to check if there are any other real standouts.

33. Wow, thanks, this makes me incredibly happy. I'm hoping to dark horse it through then, would love to finish top 10. It's grown on me hugely since entering it too, just when I thought it wasn't possible to love it any more.

40. I think I had heard it bandied about that it was a cover, I shall have to check that out at some point then.

2. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium (1) (CR-4-1-2-3-7-12-18-23-29-32-29-39-OUT-33-27-19-5-1-1-2) Longest Runner

16. Alyssa Reid feat Jump Smokers - Alone Again (25) (CR-25-6-15-25-16)

30. Alexandra Burke - Elephant (17) (CR-41-20-17-30) oh gawd, the vids out, hopefully will make you more interested and therell be an increase next week xD

Hi Rich! :D I was going to be indignant about the lack of SoSo, but I've read through the comments  I don't remember you charting it, do you have the chart run? (I want some points :kink: I'm really afraid I'll be a flop let-down after all this hype! :drama: )

1. Prance Faris - Flares (3) (CR-31-15-9-2-3-3-1) Ah, it broke through! Really strong entry, in solid rotation for me now, though I do wonder if the lack of focus on vocals might put some voters off? I hope not, and I'm probably just talking bollocks

9. Moa Lignell - When I Held Ya (10) (CR-10-9) I have to say, I didn't really note this one at all - gave it a couple more listens during deciding my votes but there was way too much competition for it to even be in contention for a point

10. Tooji - Stay (15) (CR-18-15-10) This is immense to me now - the vocals are just incredible!

11. Lise Karlsnes - Sailors (16) (CR-19-16-11) Many thanks for pointing out the album (despite the mix-up  ), it's superb! Really hope this gets through tomorrow

18. Tone Damli - Look Back (28) (CR-28-18) Easily the standout from my listen of Semi 1, put straight into rotation for me - my pick for a winner, such crossover potential, as it appears to be showing in Norway itself!

27. The 2 Bears - Work (NEW) (CR-27) Did they have a song in BJSC last year? I seem to recall not many people liking it. This is quite good, though, great production!

28. Emma Lewin - No Excuses (18) (CR-10-18-28) I foresee this coming back much stronger if we get a final version?

40. Lena Philipsson - Live Tomorrow (NEW) (CR-40) Just came on shuffle - well, the Sthlm mix - and it really is fantastic. I hadn't heard of her before, but Tyron got me onto her GH and she has some brilliant songs! Particularly love Lena Anthem :kink:

46. Dia Frampton - Billy The Kid (NEW) (CR-46) Another strong one from Semi 1, underrated in the odds (which is why I gave it some good ones, haha), seems like a top ten contender to me!

Great chart! Sad Gotye was so close to going back to #1 yet again  :P
