February 26, 201213 yr It was the best of the 5 finalists on the night in terms of song AND performance. And given their result last year they're not going to do a Dervish on us.... Hope the song is made available on the UK ITunes soon!
February 26, 201213 yr i bet when the phyisical is released they will add lipstcik as the b side aswell so its kinda a 2 for 1!! The single on ITunes Ireland is a 2 track - Waterline and Waterline (Instrumental). Quite possible they'll add Lipstick to the CD!
February 27, 201213 yr Looking back on waterline i really think if they can put a big production to the song it may do just aswell as lipstick if not a little better and i see no reason why Ireland wont come out of the semi;s again this year.
February 27, 201213 yr Am i the only one that is pleased about Jedward winning?? I know its early days but the bookies have Ireland favourite to win - Jedward and eurovision fit like a glove ! That's because the UK (and Ireland sometimes) thinks Eurovision is for cheap hasbeens with shit cheesy music. So they are like "LOL this will do well innit"
February 27, 201213 yr Even though im not a Jedward fan alot of work has gone into their song like last year and i agree i think they are very suited to eurovision and last year went very well for them and i think us irish were quite happy with how well they did, and as i said i do think if they come up with a good stage production for waterline they can repeat that success. I could be completly wrong when i say this but i would think RTE will be very happy for jedward to come anywhere from 2nd-10th but im sure they dont want a win as Ireland/rte simply cannot afford eurovision. I know eurovision is great for tourism and brings in more revenue than the last time ireland hosted as there is now three shows so people will stay longer in the country but i dont think it generates enough to cover the total cost of hosting it. That said in genral im useless at predicting what will or wont do well in eurovision, i still think Sinead Mulvey should have qualified for the final 3 years ago with et cetera for Ireland, i thought it was staged brilliantly and performed well and its a good song, last year when jedward were selected to represent ireland i said not a hope in hell of them coming out of the semi finals never mind finishing top 10 and look how wrong i was, as predictable as eurovision can be at times its totally unpredictable aswell. February 27, 201213 yr In a Eurovision scenario I do like Waterline. Im not quiet sure if it is something I would go for outside Eurovision, that said Eurovision entries are songs in themselves and are not the same type of songs we would hear in the charts etc. Jedward will do well this year and very well and i cant see them placing outside the top 5 with this entry.
February 27, 201213 yr I think John and Edward themsleves helped get votes as they really went all out on publicity and won people over especially throughout the actual Eurovision week itself. How they managed that i do not know as they seem totally incapable of saying anythiing that makes even a small bit of sense.
February 29, 201213 yr That's because the UK (and Ireland sometimes) thinks Eurovision is for cheap hasbeens with shit cheesy music. So they are like "LOL this will do well innit" aye i seen wat you mean, like the Swede's for instance are a bit more serious about it, whereas the UK and Ireland are like ahh its a bitta craic just throw anyone in. Jedward are a laughing stock in the UK, and they have haters in Ireland too - im not a Jedward fan, they fry my head but in terms of Europe, they are a fresh new act who are building a fanbase rapidly. All we can do is watch and see what happens - stranger things have occured at eurovision!
March 4, 201213 yr #5 is a good start, it will dip a bit as they also have a new charity single out soon so waterline will climb once eurovision promo starts kicking in.
March 5, 201213 yr Physical release will probably be a couple of weeks before the contest - I'd imagine it will leap back up at that point!
March 5, 201213 yr Ya the physical and eurovision promo and performance will give it a huge boost, this week though by looking at itunes it will suffer a big drop.
March 14, 201213 yr #5 is a good start, it will dip a bit as they also have a new charity single out soon so waterline will climb once eurovision promo starts kicking in. What? Jedward have a new charity single out soon? :o Please more details asap.
March 21, 201213 yr Jedward are performing last in their semi final, last or not i still think its a cert they will qualify.
March 23, 201213 yr Luck appears to be on their side again this year. Jedward are lucky bleeders really, anything they have done they have never won but their success continues and what i will find interesting this year is can they build on last years success, will the rest of europe accept them as much as jedward believe they have been accepted and loved throughout europe. I have seen them been interviewed a few times and they talked about how much success they achieved in europe due to eurovision, but i sometimes question the level of the success and i think eurovision this year may help answer that question honestly.
March 23, 201213 yr The CD single came out last Friday and as a result Waterline has lept back into the Top 10 on it's 4th week! Full chart run so far is 5 - 15 - 47 - 8. The CD accounted for 84% of their total sales this week!
March 25, 201213 yr I was wondering what caused the big climb this week, as i expected it to remain in the lower end of the charts for at least another month, the release of the cd single makes sense of all that for me now.
