Well if I had to place a bet I would say yes his album will enter the Album Chart at Number 1 - his audience is extensive enough to put the album to the Top. In fact I think that this may be his biggest album to date - its sales could exceed that of Intensive Care.

Re the singles in total Rob has had seven number 4 hits. For the media to announce that Rudebox has been a flop single defies logic - if that's the case what is the point in having a singles chart at all if a song which makes number 4 in the charts be deemed to have gone nowhere and what does that say for every other act out there who are positioned from number 5 - to 75?

Idiots! - the media I mean, not the acts from 5-75! :P

ok, Rudebox was the lead single of an album that it´s still to come. Feel´s single was out after the album, and the other number 4´s were after the album was out too, so it´s not the same

:cheer: :yahoo:

Number 28 in the uk charts now :(

To be honest I'm past caring. The press has written it off as a flop anyway (of course we know better). -_-

Now roll on Lovelight single and the album, that's what's really important to me now. :yahoo:

It may not be the same but at the end of the day the press don't care about wether it was released before or after the album. They just think that a song reaching #4 is a flop which is completelly ludacris <_<

Yes whether a song is released prior to or after an album this does not have any impact on its sales as you would think.

A number 4 hit is a number 4 hit regardless. Angels, Feel & Come Undone were better received by the media and fans in general but number 4 is as far as they went (nothing wrong with a number 4 hit !) so there is little point in arguing the toss over Rudebox.

They are all great tracks regardless of chart positions. They were all deserving of a number 1 spot but artists have to contend with a range of factors which will affect the placing of their song on any given week.

And on that note I declare this debate closed!!

Rudebox is #1 on the Italian ringtone chart ! :)

LifeLight

It was #2 here the last time I checked.... A week ago... B)

In The Netherlands RW's Rudebox single got this week from #4 to #8 in the Top40. Nevermind, he has baten JT. JT got only to the #5 and is going down in the charts......

Here are the World Single charts

Rudebox still at No 7 ( and peaked at No 5). Not bad when you consider it's not for sale in the US of A.

So the 5th best selling single in the World?

What a Flop! :o

:o 5th best selling single on the Planet :o :yahoo:

I never knew that was possible for a song not even released in the US  :o

To be fair - singles don't get released in the US anymore do they ? (certainly not physical singles) . isn't their chart all about airplay nowadays.

Still - its a great achievement for Rudebox

Flop Single. -_-

EMI must really be panicking.

The US chart us mostly based on Airplay and Downloading. Would they be counted in the world chart. I think they would tbh

No idea - but US artists sell a lot in many countries. Scissor Sisters are unheard of within their own country aren't they ?

Good to see Snow Patrol doing so well in that world chart too :)

yes SS are'n big in the US cause they are too camp  The music scene in the States is embarrassing IMO. Such a shame considering they have produced some of the greatest artists of all time :(

  • 2 weeks later...
