Basically what happens all the downloads that Scissor Sisters that have acquired over the past 4 weeks, won't get added until a week before its physically released next week, for instance Gnarls Barkley went to #1 on downloads only in its first week.

The only sales that get added to the single will be the download week before its initial physical release. The previous weeks don't as they are not allowed.

It's so difficult to explain, someone else could explain better than me, probably make a new thread in the chart forum, hopefully someone can explain better. Blame the OCC for this.

Hated that film, scared the hell out of me

All very confusing.

So do we download it this week or next week

yes it is very confusing  well... the more download you do this week, it will give it a better position in the chart for example Justin Timberlake entered the chart at #13 on downloads only on Sunday, and he has a good chance at #1 this week.

So the morale of this story..... is to download this week. :D

But all that seems to be available for download is the Radio Edit. I want the album version and the Chicken Song.

I want the chicken song too B)

am off to order on amazon

Edited by sparkle

They are only gonna have the actual song, not the b-sides yet. I have the album version if anyone wants it

But download also

Sparkle try HMV. Amazon are really expensive for singles. -_-
thanks jup, just remembered you mentioned HMV in a previous post, am on that site now and will get from there

I think I have got this now, they add the weeks previous downloads to the physical sales on the w/c 4th September..Is that right?

So they do count the downloads that have been available for weeks in advance, I thought that they would have to. So not so good for Robbie then, because JT and the SS have had their tracks being downloaded for weeks now. :o

Well that makes it even more confusing cause everyone was saying that the Scissor Siters would'nt get to #1 due to it being released to download so much earlier

Maybe it is just the 1 week before it's physical released which matter?

I know I'm repeating myself saying this, but - I preferred the good old times when the official singles charts were about physical sales ONLY, especially if this explanation is the right one ie. When ALL the week of downloads count for the charts and not only that one week before the actual single release, it just wouldn't be fair considering not all tracks are available for download for the same period of time. :(

I got it wrong, apperently it is at 51 on the I-tunes chart. :D But new songs (which both came out today like Rudebox) from Jamilia and Lemar are 26 and 23. -_-

So everyone needs to get downloading.
