They're just milking it now, and building up hype. I really doubt she would do a remix with him...

Nooo it's been recorded. Rumours going round at the moment is RocNation have cancelled it because of the backlash. How true that is, I don't know.

Literally lost ALL respect I had for her
majorly dumb move  will probably still give it a few spins though but why oh why would she do it -_-
When I saw her petulantly retweet Chris Brown earlier I had a feeling that this was set in stone. I'm actually interested to hear it, although I agree releasing it probably isn't the best move.
She's an idiot. Who cares if it sees release now, the fact is she did it, and she wanted to do it.

I would usually defend Rihanna no matter what. But I completely agree with you, it's a massive slap in the face to her fans. I know we don't know everything about what happened with the two etc but what kind of example is she setting to women who have experienced domestic abuse?!

Well if she's recorded it then I want it released. I don't really care much for this era right now and I'd enjoy seeing what happens after it's released.

It's not even that though, she's allowed to make her own mind up, if she wants to get back then fair enough. Plenty of women do, and she shouldnt have to stay away from the man she loves (no matter what he did to her) just because shes in the public eye. It's the fact she used the whole thing as publicity that's pissed me off. Now, thaaaaat is a slap in the face to women who have experienced what she has.

This, exactly. Well put.

But I think it has to be about that though, thats the thing I have lost respect for her for. She is a role model and however stupid it may sound, some girls may think its okay to go back after domestic violence because they have seen this example in the press, and although Chris may never do it again and they may get back together happily or even just be good friends, these girls may not be so lucky with that. She is sending out the wrong message to her fans, and even on ABC a few years ago she said 'she couldn't live with herself' if she had some girls blood on her hands if she set this example, but obviously she seems to have forgotten about that.

I disagree that Rihanna has to live her life differently just because she's in the public eye. I think you make enough sacrifices when you become famous and if she truly wants to be with someone, it's nobody else's business. Exploiting the whole situation to sell records is out of order though...

In all honesty, if a girl judges her relationships on the basis of 'Rihanna did that so it's okay' then they need their heads checked. Rihanna can't be held responsible for her fans. It isn't setting a good example to them, but Rihanna isn't really a very good role model anyways, so I don't think she has a reputation to uphold.

Though the fact she said that is a bit weird if she's completely backtracking, but she's just a nutjob really :/

I think if she is willing to get back together with a man who beat her then she's clearly not thinking rationally anyway and so I won't lose any respect for her for getting back with him (if it happens...). It's not a simple situation. BUT, thinking recording a duet with Chris is a good idea is different. I'd be inclined to lose respect for her for doing that but to be quite honest I'm finding it hard not to put everything down to "Chris is controlling her" (/conspiracytheories4lyf). We really don't know anything about what's going on behind the scenes here.

EDIT: But if she's not getting back with him and she wants to make the duet and rile up her fans anyway then sure respect lost.

Turn Up The Music Remix (ft. Rihanna) is here!

Lordy. Surely Birthday Cake is happening then?

EDIT: OH MY GOD CHRIS TWEETED A DOWNLOAD LINK TO THE BIRTHDAY CAKE REMIX. But the file's been taken down.

I saw that tweet too. It made me wonder whether the record company IS against releasing the remixes and they've decided to leak them themselves. Z Share is a very unofficial place to upload a brand new track isn't it?

That's what I'm guessing is happening right now yeah. Now that it's out there though I imagine there will be an iTunes release. Christ Rihanna what are you doing.

*Listens to Stupid In Love*

It seems like they've gone ahead with it off their own backs... And like, fair enough it's up to her to make her own life choices, however odious they may seem. But to record a duet with the guy who beat you and use lines like "Remember how you did it" and "Give it to her in the worst way" is actually kind of disgusting.
