Has it sold more than GYC in the US then?

Since July WMYB is over GYC in YTD chart, but GYC sold around 50k last year. I think that since July WMYB sold around 100k copies more than GYC. So right now WMYB is around 3300k, and GYC around 3200-3250k.

1D sold about 650K'ish in the UK so far of their album. Not too bad, but the thing is this album will keep selling well for the rest of the year in the US (about 25-30K a month) so, should easily end up as the 2nd or 3rd best seller of the year (behind Adele and tentatively Taylor Swift).

Week before Taylor Jason Aldead will release his album, his last album sold over 2.7 mln k copies. In long run he gas a chance sell more than 1D, but it's hard to predict how many copies he may sell this year.

OneDirection's Up All Night: The Live Tour is #1 on Top Music Videos for the 14th (!!!!!!!!!!) week. The DVD sold 7,000 copies this week (283,000).

Nothing had been left to chance by Sony Music, with the band's hit album Up All Night selling over five million copies.

'The songs, publishing, discs, DVDs, merchandising and endorsements brought in huge profits, with the five members of the group together estimated to have earned nearly £100 million ($162 million). :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Naturally, Sony and Syco raked in much more.'

They will be gone in 2 years or less. And that's the reality of it.
I'm sorry but in my opinion, I would want The Wanted to be the more successful and more hyped-up boyband than 1D. I'm no 1D hater though...but I don't get it. :(
One Direction's "One Thing" tops the 1 million mark this week. This is the group's second million-seller in a row. "What Makes You Beautiful" has sold 3,451,000 copies. OD is the first boy band to have back-to-back million-sellers since Jonas Brothers scored in 2008 with "When You Look Me In The Eyes" (1,128,000) and "Burnin' Up" (1,791,000).
FALL’S HEAVY ARTILLERY: The deluge of initial preorders for Take Me Home, the sophomore album from One Direction (Syco/Columbia, 11/13), is giving the release the look of a commercial giant, with most expecting a first week north of 500k, writes I.B. Bad in his latest column, posting Friday morning. That will give it a good shot at being the year’s second biggest debut behind Taylor Swift’s Red (Big Machine, 10/22), for which a rare million-selling bow appears to be within reach. (9/20a)

That would be HUGE for 1D, can they really manage 500k? Justin did less than 400k.

First prediction for Justin also was around 500k, so I think that 1D might be overestimated. And Taylor for sure will have best selling 1st week in history.
The Wanted's new song is a million times better than 1D's awful thing.

Judging on iphone in America poor quality does not affect the sale

Yeah, but surely a 4Q release would help 1D achieve bigger numbers than Bieber. As of right now, they're equally as big in the U.S.

And I highly doubt Swift will have the biggest opening in history, NSync's 2 million copies in a week is an impossible record to break. She'll have the biggest opening week of the year tho.

I highly doubt that 1D will sell 500k copies of their album, I think it would be 300-400k, and you have right that Taylor wouldn't sell more than N'Sync I just wanted to say that she will have biggest opening week in digital era.

While I'm at it, here's the run for 'Chasing The Sun', a peak of #50 with 15 weeks charting.

Did anyone keep track of One Direction's Billboard Hot 100 chart runs for 'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'One Thing'? Would be interested to see. ^_^

One Direction has two albums in the top 10 for the year-to-date. Up All Night is #3 with sales of 1,464,000. Take Me Home is #9 with sales of 915K. The British/Irish boy band is vying to become the first non-country act to place two albums in the top 10 on the year-end chart in the Nielsen SoundScan era. Garth Brooks had three of the top 10 for 1992. Taylor Swift had two of the top 10 for 2008.

Up All Night, which spawned the top 10 hit "What Makes You Beautiful," is the year's best-selling album by a group. It's also the year's best-selling debut album. This will mark the fifth time in the Nielsen SoundScan era that a boy band has ranked in the top three for year. Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC each achieved the feat twice.

Global sale Up all night 4.5 mln TMH 2 mln

Do you know how many copies in America sold LWWAY
