Hoping that gets a pick-up now, love her but didn't bother with her Pan Am episodes (it was already a sinking ship by that stage). Already like Emilie De Ravin and overall it sounds a fair bit like Ugly Betty (with it being fashion and called 'Americana', with Betty having been of Latin decent).
Fashion soap? *.* Jane by Design looks quite amateurish so it'd be a good replacement, if Americana is good of course.

Some more NBC and ABC castings...

Hayden Panettiere joins Nashville on ABC in one of the two leads. David Arquette joins ABC's comedy The Smart One with Portia de Rossi. Elizabeth Perkins (Celia in Weeds) joins How To Live With Your Parents. Matthew Perry joins NBC's comedy Go On in the lead role. Amy Smart (recurring on Shameless as Fiona's friend Jasmine) joins Bad Girls on NBC.

Never thought this would be the most exciting casting so far (except Brie Larson, as previously mentioned), but she was so sharp in Scream 4 that I've been anticipating what she'd do next. It's not exactly what I'd have picked for her, but the description has enough promise to get me provisionally on-board.

And new Matthew Perry show - he was always the best male Friend.

Ruth Bradley (Primeval, Titanic) is ABC's Beauty(Princess Grace).

so there are two Pilots called "Beauty And The Beast"? One on the ABC and the other on the CW? Interesting. The one on CW has Kristin Kreuk, so that's a plus from me :D

GCB got off to a really promising start! Very funny, superfast paced, and a lot of great performances... I really liked Gigi, Blake (the gay husband) and Heather but I think that Cricket will be the one to watch. Leslie Bibb is a great comic actress, she had me laughing out loud throughout. It wasn't perfect and some bits could do with the soundtrack turning down fifteen notches. I just hope it's a hit...

I can't wait to watch it, seems like my kind of show. Watching Leslie Bibb on a TV series again will be interesting - the last I saw of her was Popular way back in 2000.

I just hope DH's terrible ratings these season don't harm it too much

I assume by 'promising start' you mean quality wise, not ratings wise? I haven't watched it yet, but it only got a 2.2. Hopefully it doesn't drop too much/too fast, but I expect it will.

Yeah the ratings weren't good. They really should have put it at 9 instead of 10. DH squanders the healthy Once Upon A Time lead-in anyway. Hopefully ABC will have them swap places in a couple of weeks.

Edit: could a mod move the last few posts (36-42) to the US primetime discussion thread? I thought this was that but evidently not.

Hayden Panettiere AND Connie Britton? It's becoming a showcase for people only I love! Someone get Lindsay Sloane on the phone.

Connie Britton was so cold and unlikable on American Horror Story. And not in an ice queen way. More like an ice BITCH.

ABC

Gilded Lilys

Set in 1895, this epic love story follows the opening of the first grand luxury hotel in NYC, against a backdrop of vicious family rivalries, scandalous secrets, and conflict and comingling of classes.

Starring Blythe Danner (Meet The Parents), Brían O'Bynre (FlashForward), Madeline Zima (Californication) and Sarah Bolger (The Tudors).

Apparently John Barrowman now added to play the lead role of the son.

Vanessa Williams has joined '666 Park Avenue' in a lead role. Looks very likely that ABC will pick it up now they've cast people from Lost, Greys, Brothers & Sisters and Ugly Betty/DH.

Yeah I'm more excited by the casting of Claire Forlani in ABC's Scruples! The book it's based on is one of the ULTIMATE high-class/trash soaps and she will be a perfect fit for the lead role. Karine Vanasse aka Colette from Pan Am has also been cast in it. *.*

Maggie Grace has been cast FOX's drama starring Kevin Bacon about a serial killer. I hope this is picked up. Sounds really interesting. And perhaps more likely now some bigish names are attatched to it.

And in more perplexing news LUCIEN LAVISCOUNT has been cast in NBC's Midnight Sun  The premise sounds quite good, and there is a strong cast. Not sure whetherI'm interested anymore though!
