If it's anything like moonshine here in the US, which it sounds like it is, that stuff can be near 100 proof, or close to 200% alcohol.....a 'proof' is a measure of alcohol content, i.e. something 43 proof is 86% alcohol.....

The legal stuff is

Alcohol by volume 60%–90%

I am not sure if you can get the illegal stuff anymore but I do remember my Dad having it when I was a child , my Uncle used to make it & it was really strong , it used to drive people crazy so they said

Why am I not NOT surprised by this article , I have gone into certain stores & you can actually get a smell off the clothes , the bigger stores that buy in bulk in particular. I saw a documentary about it last year where in certain cases they actually use a form of rubber in the clothes, especially the ones that stretch a bit , can you imagine that mixed with your own natural body odour... does not bear thinking about :puke2:

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for is my motto B-)

And I was reading today about weedkiller being found in some bread. We are all being poisoned. :(
A colleague at work had the back of his leg bitten by his Cat, you could see the eye teeth marks in his calf where the cat broke the skin, after several hours of interrogation I discovered that he has shooed the cat out of the way with his golf club  hence the cat bite , bloomin good enough for him I said .
