Was he the pilot?

Nope  , he rang his girlfriend before we took off, I could hear him whispering down the phone that he loved her ... Aw  , then he decided he was terrified of flying , I kept having to calm him down. I was going to put my arms around him  , you have to take these opportunities when they arise :smoke:

Reminds me of a second leg of a flight I had several years ago, a gal, in my case, sitting next to me on the plane, a 737, she was freaking out a bit on the flight back to Florida....she wound up having several drinks, held my hand on the plane, and, after we landed, she held onto my arm until we got back to the main terminal of the airport....at which point, she dashed off to the embrace of her who I guessed to be her boyfriend....

Some people Biggy, they just take full advantage :P

A colleague of mine at work travelled with a girl on a plane last year & it was very stormy outside & the plane was being thrown all over the place, she grabbed his leg & never let go until they landed, he had the bruises to prove it for weeks

I usually just grab onto the person pushing the drinks trolley :drink:

Can we say 'lush'? or 'sot'? :P :P :P

I would say more like 'a bit desperate'

I'm a very nervous flyer. I avoid planes as much as I can. I have a recurring dream of planes crashing. I wonder what that means? It must be symbolic of something.

Pictures from Donegal in Ireland of the Northern Lights, just fab, they usually cannot be seen this far south , spectacular

With my intense dislike of heights, I am one who actually LIKES flying.....go figure.....

Nice aurora borealis stuff for Oirland, Tess....not a chance I'd ever see those here in Florida......too far south.....

Unfortunately that's about 200 miles away from where I live but driveable if you wanted to go there , looks fab .... some great pics here https://www.google.ie/search?q=northern+lig...mp;ved=0CCwQsAQ

I am not keen on flying , have to fly to the Uk again on Monday week ( in one of those small little propeller planes which I hate because they get bounced around in the wind. ) , the flight after that then is the beginning of May when I fly to Vancouver ( 9 hrs from London ) , somehow I do not mind the bigger planes which is daft because they crash as well .

I think I will be taking a few stiff drinks before I board the flight ....

Weirdly enough, I'm not remotely scared of heights. And it's not even the flying I'm scared of. It's the crashing. :(

I've seen the Northern Lights a fair few times. ^_^

But flying in those 'puddle jumpers' (small propeller planes) are such a joy... ;) ;)

I thought you meant one of these kind of planes they use for the Scottish islands

I've been on similar, Jups and Tess.....the joys of them small planes, when they hit some turbulence...
