Posted March 5, 201213 yr After sometime out of the spotlight, and sister Natasha doing well in the US, Daniel Bedingfield comes back with new single Out Of My Head. http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/daniel...ngfield/updates
March 5, 201213 yr Erm, it's called PledgeMusic. It's not begging. It's an alternative to signing a record deal. He was signed for five years without being offered a release. I'm pleased to say I have been pledging, he was one of my fave artists back in the day :D
March 5, 201213 yr Even if I was a fan I wouldn't 'pledge' for the simple reason that he will have his own money which he could invest if he was so eager to give his fans music. He was a major seller for a while and he wrote his own music to boot. If he squandered the money he made that's his own fault.
March 5, 201213 yr I think both him and his ghastly sister are completely and utterly loathesome.... and this whole pledging malarkey is just a bit desperate, let's be honest. Yes, he must have made a fair few bob from his couple of hits (I fail and refuse to remember a single one of them...really I do, so please no reminders)..... hmm... saying that, though, I'd imagine he blew it all on pies, bless his chubby little cheeks.
March 6, 201213 yr I know two people IRL who use this website as artists, it's really great if you're up and coming and haven't got a deal yet, or you're an older artist that still has a strong fanbase but little mainstream media/label interest. While it would be charitable to call Daniel either of these things, he has every right iMHo to promote his music in this way. With the way the record industry is going if I had an album out now it would be through this site for sure. He's even donating 15% of the money to charity, so I so don't see how he's the bad guy here.
March 7, 201213 yr I really liked his first two albums but just listened to these new clips and they sound like unfinished demo's.
