Posted August 8, 200618 yr Virgin.net Music news Barat in injury scare Dirty Pretty Things have been forced to draft in a new guitarist after lead singer Carl Barat broke his collarbone. Barat injured himself in Taiwan last week, but the band are determined not to cancel any dates on their forthcoming tour and have drafted in Paddingtons guitar player Josh Hubbard to play Barat's parts at the shows. Barat's injuries will not prevent him from singing and he will appear with the group when their first ever American tour begins in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. In a message on their official website on Monday, the band confirmed the news, saying: "That rumour doing the rounds is true; Carl had an unfortunate accident and broke his collarbone in Taiwan last week. "For those fans that have tickets to the first American tour, which starts tomorrow, fear not. "No dates are being cancelled and Dirty Pretty Things will become a five piece temporarily, borrowing Josh from The Paddingtons to take over Carl's guitar duties." The band are set to play Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and New York with Hubbard. It is not yet known if Barat will be fit to play guitar at the Reading and Leeds festivals at the end of this month. Are any of you due to see the Dirty Pretty Things this year?
