Posted August 8, 200618 yr Source: Mardy-Bum Fellow 2006 Mercury Award nominee and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has praised the attitude of Arctic Monkeys and has admitted that he would be happy to see the lads win the Mercury Award. He said: "What I like about them most is they're not letting anyone push them around. "That, to me, especially given the stage they're at, is the most important thing." I have to agree myself ;) Well we all already knew anyway considering 'Who The F*ck Are Arctic Monkeys'
August 9, 200618 yr Thom Yorke's comments are exactly right. A lot of people have thrown abuse at the Arctic Monkeys due to how quickly they became famous, but it wasn't their faults, and they don't let anyone push them around like not appearing on TOTP for instance.
August 11, 200618 yr Author But at the same time I wonder if they were pushed into getting rid of Andy
August 11, 200618 yr I'm still unsure about whether they did actually force Andy out of the band. Obviously if he was forced out they'd cover it up at all costs, but I still don't know whether their is any truth in that story and I guess we'll never know. -_-
August 11, 200618 yr Author Well there has always been part of me that's told me that the American record company might have told them to get rid of because he was fat -_- but then again I don't think Alex would agree to that..

Well if the American record company did that then their hypocrites IMO. -_- I doubt Alex would agree to that either as they've already shown that their no push-overs by not performing at TOTP etc but you never know...
August 11, 200618 yr Author Well I don't THINK he'd do it as I said but he was the founding member though :( but as far as everything else they're it their way and long may their success continue because of that and their music ^_^

August 11, 200618 yr Author I think they have it in the bag ;) especially as you can't download it until Monday either :o
August 11, 200618 yr I think they have it in the bag ;) especially as you can't download it until Monday either :o Yeah and most of the acts that don't allow their track to be eligable to chart on downloads alone get to #1, like McFly and Shayne Ward. I think they've got in pretty much in the bag as well, and some people might say that people will think its on the album, the fans who have the album already know it isn't which is over a million so meh.
August 11, 200618 yr He may be praising their attitude, but I dont hear anything about whether he likes their actual music or not....
