I went for 'Less than in the past'... it just doesn't feel as much of an important event as it did years ago. Like others have said, perhaps that's to do with a lack of Top of the Pops over the last few years.

 

If I didn't come on this forum (or Haven), I'd definitely not know of anyone who particularly cares! :lol: Whereas in the days of TOTP, it would be more of a talking point.

Definitely more important to get a higher peak position.

 

It's only ppl like us (Buzzjack members) who visit chart forums regularly who are aware of (or care about) the actual sales. All most ppl remember is what number it go to.

 

Surely that's partly the OCC's fault, given that they absurdly guard sales data more tightly than the Crown Jewels... :rolleyes:

More significant than 2001 but less signifcant than 1980. 'Past' is quite vague...

*Well technically they occasionally do but VERY rarely.
