Posted April 3, 201213 yr Here's the chart where they peaked in America with Back For Good, originally thought they went Top 5. But looking at the Hot 100 again, they reached No.7 which is still good. April 3, 201213 yr So many other Take That songs i would have loved to have seen do aswell in america, for me songs like never forget, patience and rule the world were more worthy than back for good. Then again i have never been a huge back for good fan and i know probably everyone will disagree on my point.
April 3, 201213 yr I still think they should release in America. They are producing material similar or if not better than UK bands such as Coldplay that sell well over there so why not try it out! For some reason the 2006-2012 material is not available on the US iTunes but the old stuff still is. If they sorted that out then it would be a good step in that direction. They are also signed to a division of Interscope so they clearly have the backing from US labels. Looking through that list is definately a blast from the past haha, seen some names i havent heard of in years! Back For Good did very well over there, similar to The Wanted in terms of sales but as I remember the 4 or 5 above them in the charts at the time went on to sell ridiculously and stayed where they were for weeks so number 7 wasnt bad at all. Gary has said that they did plan to release Pray as the second single over the pond with the B side being either Every Guy or Babe but obviously the break up had already been set in motion. I definately think that if they had targeted America while they were breaking Europe in the Everything Changes era then they would have had alot of success over there.
April 4, 201213 yr Had they not split, Im still not fully convinced they would have had any major further American success.

I agree, they didn't do bad with Back For Good, and from looking at the video of them in America they had a good response. It's a shame the split happened as they could have gone to better things in America. Never know now, but the new stuff could have done well (maybe still could). I'd love to see them have another crack at the US.
April 7, 201213 yr Well American success would have been great, but from a selfish point of view im glad they didnt, as nobody else was the album aimed for america and outside of never forget there is nothing on the album i really really like and its their only album i dont listen to. Based on that im glad they have concentrated mainly on the Uk market now and Europe.
