April 9, 201214 yr Author Not quite, it just feels like it  Lostprophets and Madonna will definitely fall past Ed, and I think there'll only be 1 or 2 new entries in the top ten this week so he should be safe for a 31st week. I'd be surprised if there were any more than a big fat zero. Alabama Shakes – Boys & Girls Counting Crows - Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) Florence + The Machine - MTV Unplugged: A Live Album Halestorm - The Strange Case Of... M Ward – A Wasteland Companion Monica - New Life Ramin – Ramin Unisonic – Unisonic Counting Crows and Florence + The Machine could go top 40 on fanbase buys, Alabama Shakes have had some Radio 1 exposure so might show up somewhere as well, but I can't see any of the others even troubling the top 40. Admittedly I don't really know any of those acts though so I'll probably be wrong about that. Edited April 9, 201214 yr by M.I.É.

April 9, 201214 yr Author I reckon Alabama Shakes will go top ten fairly easily, but you're right, it will probably just be the one entry in the top ten this week. I probably should have checked the iTunes album chart before making that post :kink: Alabama Shakes are 2nd on there behind only Now! 81 so you're right, they probably will go top 10 (didn't see that coming at all, Foster The People's album missed the top 10 after a big hit single which Alabama Shakes haven't had). The next highest of the new releases is Counting Crows at #21, then Ramin is #28 (no idea who he/she/they is/are but could also be a top 40 new entry based on that), Florence + The Machine are #35 and Halestorm are #79. None of the others from that list are top 100. '21' is still at #3 and ahead of Minaj. Minaj wasn't really THAT far ahead last week, only about 20k or so - it really wouldn't surprise me if '21' ends up back at #1 this Sunday! Also taking into consideration that the RAH boost only applied to the last couple of days of last week's chart but this week she'll start off the week selling at that increased level so her sales won't go down significantly and might possibly even go up a bit again, while Minaj should see a second week slump as usual for new releases. April 10, 201214 yr Author Note that as per the Music Week report 'Together In Electric Dreams' really should actually be #61, not #90 - the OCC have just forgotten to combine its sales from cherrypicks off The Human League's Greatest Hits. iTunes have for some reason credited that to The Human League despite it being the exact same Giorgio Moroder/Philip Oakey recording as the other one and this means the OCC have allocated some of the sales of this song to a nonexistant version by The Human League (which has charted separately at #118 - the first top 200 hit ever that doesn't actually exist?) Of course it's unlikely that the OCC will go back and fix this blunder now, so everything from 61 to 89 will just be in reality a place high and everything from 119 downwards a place too low. Hopefully they'll fix the mistake for this week as the Human League 'version' looks like it could climb into the top 100 in its own right alongside the Giorgio & Philip 'version' if not combined.
April 10, 201214 yr Alabama Shakes will be top 10 easily enough this week, they are a band with a big and growing fan base - next black keys maybe?
