Yesterday (Monday, April 16) we revealed that, less than a year-and-a-half after their back catalogue was made available to download stores, The Beatles had broken the one million sales barrier for digital downloads.

The move to bring The Fab Four’s music into the digital age came after the band’s label, Apple Corps, reached an agreement with iTunes owner Apple Computer in November, 2010, following a long running dispute between both firms as to who owns the rights to the name Apple in the music sector.

As of midnight on Saturday (April 14), The Beatles had sold over a million digital tracks since 2010. The Fab Four’s most popular downloaded track is Hey Jude. Not far behind it is 1970’s Let It Be, while the George Harrison-penned Here Comes The Sun - which re-entered the Official Singles Chart at Number 58 on Sunday (April 15) after being featured in the latest Marks & Spencer TV advert - is in third place. 1962’s Twist And Shout and 1969’s Come Together complete the Top 5.

Interesting that the #1s 'From Me To You', 'I Feel Fine', 'Day Tripper' (and 'We Can Work It Out'), 'Paperback Writer', 'Lady Madonna', 'Get Back' and 'The Ballad Of John And Yoko' are nowhere to be seen in the top 40 while a multitude of songs never even released as singles are in there, most notably 'Here Comes The Sun'. And their biggest seller, 'She Loves You' is only their 28th most popular download. (Their other three million sellers are also only #14, #27 and as stated above 'I Feel Fine' isn't even top 40).

I thought this was the start of the list!

Suppose they were singles and were included on many greatest hits albums from the past including the 4 million selling 1 album in 2000!

Strangely no "Please Please Me". Astounding.

To be honest, it's one of the Beatles tracks which has aged the most
