July 1, 201213 yr I am a little disappointed with this but it is still great and I will give it more time to grow. I think I was kind of hoping for something like 'Home' or 'Brave' part two as they were stonkers.
July 1, 201213 yr Really really like this! It's not quite on the level of 4th Of July or Home but I knew her and Skream together would be great. Can't wait for the album, it'll be interesting to see if she keeps this sort of sound or varies it a bit with different dance sub-genres.
July 1, 201213 yr Am I the only one who prefers her R&B sound? Kaleidoscope and Tasty were amazing. Yes to the first bit, but Kelis Was Here is by FAR AND AWAY her greatest record. Although sadly I am the only person who thinks that.

July 1, 201213 yr this this really hope this is a grower but after 3 listens I still ain't feelin it. flesh tone pt. 2 from the album please tho :( I am enjoying it but it just isn't as punchy as I was hoping for and as big sounding as I was expecting. I want exactly that as 'Flesh Tone' was my favourite album of 2010 despite it only being 9 tracks long, so I don't want anymore watered down dance tracks, she needs to go all out again. I am still hoping it grows though and I am sure that Kelis will bring the goods as the era continues as even with FT, the best tracks never were singles.

Wasnt a fan of Kelis Was Here, I think it was her weakest personally. But I adore Kaleidoscope and Tasty, especially the latter, for me her best album.
July 2, 201213 yr Author 'Kelis Was Here' was her 'Bionic'. Too many songs, too many genres, no quality control.
July 3, 201213 yr omg (please be real) http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6kbm10eiC1qzjj18o1_1280.png
July 3, 201213 yr Is that not from the shooting of the 4th of July video? There was something in the making-of video that looked extremely similar to that.
July 3, 201213 yr I was reminded that Taste The Difference is a Sainsbury's food range, so now all I can think of is that when I hear this. It's quite a good song otherwise, not exactly "Acapella" territory but it was going to be difficult to compete with that. I like how it feels quite chilled.
July 3, 201213 yr 'Kelis Was Here' was her 'Bionic'. Too many songs, too many genres, no quality control. Nah, it didn't chase trends. It did urban better than anybody else doing it back then and mashed in soul and pop effortlessly.
July 3, 201213 yr 'Kelis Was Here' was her 'Bionic'. Too many songs, too many genres, no quality control. But Bionic is shit,KWS is not.
