But blasting in at No.2 with his second single is 2011 X-Factor winner Reece Mastin with “Shut Up & Kiss Me”, with his first track “Good Night” having debuted at No.1 in early December 2011 spending four broken weeks at the top, and having only just left the ARIA Top 100 last week spending 21 weeks within and selling four times Platinum. Last weeks No.2 debut for Delta Goodrem “Sitting on Top of the World” drops back a place to No.3, but does score a Gold sales certification, whilst Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House” is up a notch to No.4, a new peak for that track. Dropping back two places each to No.5 and No.6 respectively are “Never Let Me Go” for Florence + the Machine and “Starships” for Nicki Minaj. Last week Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa snuck into the Top 100 at No.86 with Maroon’s new track “Payphone”, which this week blasts into the Top 10 at No.7, up seventy-nine places, becoming their sixth Top 10 entry (seventh if you include Adam Levine’s appearance on “Stereo Hearts” for Gym Class Heroes). But right behind them at No.8 is the second Top 10 debut of the week, “Whistle” for Flo Rida, becoming his tenth Top 10 entry here in Australia, and replacing “Wild Ones” which was at No.10 last week and drops to No.16 this week. We also say goodbye to the two One Direction Top 10 singles, “One Thing” (TW-11) and “What Makes You Beautiful” (TW-18), but retaining their top ten statuses are Labrinth and Tinie Tempah with “Earthquake” at No.9, and former No.1 “We Are Young” for fun. and Janelle Monae at No.10, both down two spots each. NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: “Live My Life” for the Far East Movement and Justin Bieber climbs a single place to a new peak of No.14, and regaining it’s former No.17 peak is B.o.B with “So Good”, back up to No.17. And back into the Top 20 for the first time since February is Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”, up nine places to No.19. Outasight is up three places to No.22 with his track “Tonight is the Night”, also pulling up T-Pain and Ne-Yo to No.23 with “Turn All the Lights on”, plus entering the Top 30 at No.26 (up six) is Pitbull’s “Back in Time”. James Morrison jumps up eight places to No.32 with “I Won’t Let You Go”, and up twenty places to No.33 is The Voice contestant Lakyn Heperi and his version of MGMT’s “Kids”. Helped back into the Top 50 by its use in the mini-series “Beaconsfield” about the trapped miners, Kate Miller-Heidke’s “The Last Day on Earth” jumps up thirty-four places to No.34, and lastly Linkin Park’s new track “Burn it Down” leaps up twenty places to land at No.50. THE VOICE (2nd week): So last week we had a huge amount of live performances from the show enter the charts, plus some of the originals entering. This week there are 16 songs related to the show, including contestants, judges and the original versions charting. Judges: Delta is at No.2 with her new track and Seal is at No.36 with “Kiss from a Rose” and No.72 with “Crazy”. Contestants: Lakyn Heperi’s version of “Kids” is up to No.33, whilst last weeks high entry at No.18 for Rachael Leahcar with “La Vie en Rose” is down to No.41 this week. Brittany Cairns (episode six) performed the Sara Bareilles song “Gravity”, which Brittany’s version debuts at No.57. Karise Eden falls to No.63 with “It’s a Man’s Man’s World”, and Casey Withoos with “Samson” is down to No.73, the original version drops to No.88. Lastly Kelsie Rimmer’s version of “Teenage Dream” drops down eleven places to No.100. Originals: Ed Sheeran’s “The A Team” was performed by contestant Mitchell Thompson, which has helped the track to jump back up forty places to No.39. On the same episode (five), Sam Ludeman performed Gavin DeGraw’s “Not Over You” (HP-37, Oct 2011), which helps the original to re-enter the Top 100 at No.42. Kate Bush falls twenty-seven places with her “Wuthering Heights” to No.66, The Script’s “Breakeven” is back in at No.87 thanks to Ben Hazelwood performance of it on episode four and from the very first episode was “Apologize” for OneRepublic and Timbaland as done by Adam Martin, which helps the original version to re-enter at No.94. Back in at No.90 are The White Stripes and “Seven Nation Army” which was performed by Rebekah Jensen who did not make it through to the next rounds. Lower 50: The only new peaking track this week in the lower 100 is UK female rapper Azealia Banks feat Lazy Jay on her track “212”. Christina Perri’s “Jar of Hearts” jumps back up twenty-nine places to No.71 thanks to her performance on Dancing with the Stars last week during her promo visit. Skrillex and Sirah are back up seventeen places to No.81 with “Kyoto”. Apart from The Voice returnees, we also re-entries by Adele with “Set Fire to the Rain” at No.91, and Tyga with “Rack City” at No.97. Missy Higgins is releasing her third album on June 1st entitled “The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle”, and the first single from that album is entitled “Unashamed Desire”, which she performed on Wednesday night on ‘Adam Hills in Gordon St. Tonight’ show. Angus Stone (of Angus & Julie Stone) releases his solo album in July, but the first two tracks from the album chart this week, with “Bird on a Buffalo” coming in at No.67, and “Broken Brights” in at No.74. The last new entry of the week comes in at No.83; The Black Keys with “Gold on the Ceiling”, the second single lifted from their “El Camino” album which jumps up to No.6 this week. First single “Lonely Boy” rises back up to No.44 having peaked at No.2 in late January. Albums Four weeks at No.1 now for One Direction’s “Up all Night”, but can it hold for another week now that their two singles have dropped out of the Top 10, and the band have left the country until 2013. We will have to see next week, with new albums by Norah Jones, Jack Vidgen, plus climbing albums by Ed Sheeran and The Black Keys. Jack White (of The White Stripes) debuts at No.2 with his first solo album entitled “Blunderbuss”, which features the track “Love Interruption”. Of the five White Stripes, two for The Dead Weather and two for The Raconteurs, this is his highest charting album in Australia, beating the No.3 peaks for 2005’s “Get Behind Me Satan” and 2007’s “Icky Thump”. Adele again bounces back up to No.3 with “21”, but scoring a new peak of No.4 is Ed Sheeran’s “+” album, up three spots this week. Last weeks No.2 debut for Kate Miller-Heidke “Nightflight” steps back three places to No.5, but up three spots to No.6 are The Black Keys with “El Camino”. Bob Seger falls back two spots to No.7 (where this album has been twice before) with “Ultimate Hits”, and Cold Chisel fall five spots to No.8 with their former No.2 album “No Plans”. The Hilltop Hoods score their longest Top 10 run ever as “Drinking from the Sun” spends at seventh week inside the ten, falling three places to No.9. Rounding out the top ten at No.10 is Skrillex and his “Bangarang” EP. NEW PEAKS & MOVERS: Seal’s appearance as a judge on The Voice helps his “Hits” collection to jump up eleven places to a new peak of No.13, whilst other judge Keith Urban’s “Greatest Hits: 18 Kids” returns to the Top 20 at No.18 (up three places). Gotye’s overseas chart feats has helped his single and now album to climb back into the Top 20, as “Making Mirrors” is up fourteen places to No.17. Christina Perri’s “lovestrong’ album has been re-packaged this coming week, and returns to the Top 40 at No.37, up thirty-one places from last week thanks to her promo tour of the country last week. Damien Leith’s sixth album entitled “Now & Then” debuts at No.12, and is his sixth Top 30 album (two No.1’s, two No.2’s and a No.25). It’s a collection of recent and older songs, and is the follow-up to his former No.2 album “Roy” (May 2011), which featured Roy Orbison covers. The third album for Melbourne group Children Collide is entitled “Monument”, and it debuts at No.16, beating the No.70 peak for their first album “The Long Now” (2008), but not quite reaching the heights of 2010’s “Theory of Everything” which debut and peaked at No.5. British singer/songwriter Jasmine van den Bogaerde is better known as Birdy, and debut self-titled album debuts at No.29. The album has produced the No.85 single here “Skinny Love”, and the album has hit No.1 in Belgium and The Netherlands whilst it has so far made it to No.13 in her home country. The seventh album for Rufus Wainwright becomes his highest charting album here, as “Out of the Game” debuts at No.38. His previous two chart entries here were his fifth album, 2007’s “Release the Stars” (HP-72) and his sixth, 2010’s “All Days are Nights: Songs for Lulu” (HP-75). Lower 50: With Bee Gee member Robin Gibb quite sick at the moment, fans of the group have been steadily buying the groups collection “The Ultimate Bee Gees”, which again this week scores another new peak, up a few spots to No.54, plus last weeks Glee was a ‘Saturday Night Fever’ episode. And scoring another new peak this week are Alabama Shakes with “Boys and Girls”, jumping up twenty-two places to No.61. Seal has two albums in the Top 100, as his “Hits” collection jumps up, so too does his “Soul 2” album, up sixteen places to No.59 this week. Joel Madden from Good Charlotte has been unrepresented on the charts so far, but this week he has and his group have two albums entering, as Good Charlotte’s previous album “Cardiology” is back in at No.82, whilst first time visitor of their hits “Greatest Hits” debuts at No.86. Keith Urban also scores a second album this week, as “Get Closer” returns at No.96, but Delta’s self titled first album falls out, meaning she has no albums chart at the moment. Other returning albums this week include “Rocket Man: The Definitive Hits” for Elton John back in at No.99, “Forever So” by Husky at No.83, and Whitney Houston again has three collections in the Top 100, as her “The Greatest Hits” returns at No.87, and they will be helped back up the charts next week due to the Glee Whitney episode from last Thursday (26th April). The Kokua Festival in Hawaii has been held since 2004 and raises funds for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation which supports environmental, art and music education around the world. The album “Jack Johnson and Friends – Best of Kokua Festival” enters at No.56 and features tracks by Jack Johnson, Ziggy Marley, Jackson Browne, Ben Harper, Willie Nelson, Eddie Vedder and more, with 100% of money raised going to the foundation. The final new entry of the week is the debut album for six piece Icelandic folk/indie pop band Of Monsters and Men, the album “My Head is an Animal” comes in at No.89 and has reached the Top 10 so far in the US and Canada.
