Robbie Joins The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert

30 Apr 2012

Robbie will be performing at London's Buckingham Palace on Monday 4th June as part of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert.

He will join some of the biggest names in music such as Tom Jones, Elton John, Ed Sheeran, JLS, Jessie J and Shirley Bassey, to name a few, who've been brought together by the BBC and fellow Take That bandmate Gary Barlow for the show, which will take place in the stunning surroundings of the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace.

"If this doesn't get me a knighthood, nothing will," joked Robbie. "I can't wait for the show."

“The Diamond Jubilee concert will celebrate the 60 years of The Queen’s reign with an amazing line-up of world-class artists coming together to play at one of the biggest and most exciting live music shows in recent years," said Gary Barlow. "With Buckingham Palace as a backdrop, it's going to be a fantastic event which transcends multiple decades of music. It'll be a great, unique, experience for the thousands attending, watching on TV and listening on Radio. I can't wait!”

The concert will be attended by Her Majesty The Queen, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and other Members of the Royal Family and will be broadcast live on BBC One, BBC One HD and on BBC Radio 2 in the UK and to millions around the world. If you're in the United States you'll be able to watch exclusive highlights on ABC the next day.

  Don't drop phone in bath :P

Why are all the music biz types these days so pro-establishment? Where are all the rebels? And the Blessed Gary is the worst of them all. He's definitely heading for a Sirhood or a Damehood or whatever it's called. He'll be moving into the spare bedroom at Buck Hoose any day now. <_<

I bet you watch it on the tv :P especially now Robbie's performing :P

I will watch it, possibly record it so I can fast forward overt the artists I don't like. Paul McCartney being top of the list!

My kind of person Jupiter! Royal arse-lickers one and all. I'm surprised actually - I thought Rob may opt out of this farce - obviously his new best friend 'brown-nose-barlow' has more influence than we all thought!

I will not watch it. -_-

Unless of course Robbie sings some new stuff. In which case I'll watch it back on BBC I Player. -_- -_- -_-

But I strongly suspect Angels/Feel/LMEY medley. Again.

I concur. Most disappointing. :smoke:

Are David Bowie and Keith Richards the only ones who told them to stuff their Knighthoods?

Call me a miserable old tart Jupes but I don't give a shiny shite! I've never been a Royalist. I do have a sort of weird liking for Prince Charles and Camilla - but only in an 'I'd like to go down to the pub quiz one night with them' kind of way - but apart from that - the institution of a royal family just passes me by - in this day and age - I don't see the point of them. For me - they are only of use to London - not the British Isles as a whole.

Kath

I've still no intention of watching. As a matter of principle**. <_<

On the subject of sycophantic fawning, bowing and scraping - has anyone seen that BBC advert promoting Lizzie's jubilee with Robbie singing 'She's the One' in the background? Gadd, pass the sick bucket. :puke2:

** Although I'm guessing Robbie will swallow dive from the roof of Buck Hoose. Either that or Phlip the Greek will do the honours...
