Posted May 7, 201213 yr I've got three chunky books from about 20 years ago based on the "Music Master" database One is a "Labels Catalogue" which is a record of all the 7"/12"/Album/Cassette/CDs in their database (over 200,000 claims the cover) organised by label, then by catalogue number - e.g. that for Island records runs for over 9 pages, the second being a "Tracks Catalogue" (500,000 songs with for each song a listing of each version and on which single/album/etc it appears on, so for instance "Unchained Melody" has about 100 versions on about 150 recordings. The Third is "Singles Catalogue" (69000 entries) which is organised by artist, and lists singles with release/deletion dates, catalogue numbers, track listings, etc. Does the Music Master database still exist, and is there on-line availability?
May 7, 201213 yr I've not seen one of these books for two decades. And searching around Google I can't find any titles in the series beyond 1995. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&key...er%22+catalogue I can only assume the series of books has long since been discontinued.
