The Liverpool Echo say Sahin has cost us a loan fee of £1.6m (€2m) plus 70% of his wages

The rumoured £5m loan fee didn't add up. We're already short on cash and trying to move on the likes of Carroll and Spearing before we buy. Very unlikely we would have splashed out £5m on a player for only a year when that money could have bought Dempsey for example

Seems like Arsenal pulled out because they wanted an option to buy, which is silly because Mourinho apparently isn't too keen on Sahin and they've just bought Modric, so there's a chance he would have stayed

Walcott contract negotiations apparently stalled. Man City and Liverpool very keen.

The Sinclair to Manchester City transfer is going to drag out until Friday, you just know it.

I'll be delighted if Berbatov stays in the Premier League, I'm a huge fan of his!

It's been a busy day! Carroll looks like he might move to West Ham on loan for the season after all, but with no option or commitment to buy like the previous agreement. Nicky Maynard will move to Cardiff as a result for £3m.

Southampton sign a much needed centre-half in Maya Yoshida.

Pablo Hernandez to Swansea with Sinclair completing a move to Man City, who've signed Richard Wright as Stuart Taylor's replacement for 3rd choice keeper who will never play. They may also sign Maicon from Inter.

QPR to add Granero from Real Madrid.

Charlie Adam attracting much interest, Fulham, Stoke and Everton all touted as possibilities.

Everton will sign Brian Oviedo from Copenhagen for £5m, building what's probably the best squad they've ever had under Moyes.

Blackburn have finally completed the £8m signing of Jordan Rhodes. Lord knows what Venkys are doing, did sod all to stay in the Premier League, now spending so much to get back that it could ruin them should they fail. Utterly clueless!

George Boyd and Paul Taylor have thankfully both rejected moves to Ipswich. None of them are as great as they both think they are (especially Taylor after one good season) but both could probably go a tad higher than Ipswich!

I can hardly keep up!

Carroll to West Ham on a season long loan confirmed.

Hugo Loris to Spurs.

Van Der Vaart to Hamburg.

Javi Garcia to Manchester City.

Scott Sinclair to Manchester City.

Charlie Adam to Stoke.

Kieran Richardson to Fulham.

Nigel de Jong to AC Milan.

To Liverpool: Please hurry up and sign a striker (two would be nice). Thanks

Reckon our deals depend on what other clubs do. Can't see Sturridge coming unless Chelsea sign another striker. Then again, I can't see why we let Andy Carroll go without having at least 1 or 2 things in the pipeline. I hope Dempsey happens, but we really must be haggling with Fulham over the price for it to have gone on this long. He's exactly the type of short-term player we need.

Yep it'd be ridiculous if our deals are now dependent on other clubs. Chelsea could decide they don't want to let Sturridge go and we'd be left with Suarez and Borini as the only recognised strikers. Think we'd really struggle without another two attacking players since we've already lost Maxi, Bellamy, Carroll and Kuyt's goals from last season

Although, Rodgers did say he'd be mad to let Carroll go without another player coming in and that the current squad needed help due to a lack of numbers. Fingers crossed !

I'd be happy with Dempsey and Sturridge

Are Aston Villa already preparing themselves for the championship with their signings ?

See my sig :D

We've got Danny Rose on loan from Spurs, bit uninspiring tbh. A potential move for Jenas has broken down which a lot of our fans are quite pleased about.

Richardson's moved to Fulham, it'll be interesting to see where they play him. Solid at left back, inconsistent everywhere else.

I quite like what Villa are doing. It's what happens when you spend years paying massive wages to average and mainly ageing players, putting you in massive amounts of debt. They've signed some very impressive youngsters, I just hope it works for them.

Lambert inherited probably the worst squad in the Premier League. But they had a wage bill in the top 8 and have been losing money hand over fist.

Yet QPR are following the exact same business model Aston Villa did! These clubs can't spend big, if they don't have the commercial pull out on this country! Mind you, God knows what Randy Lerner has been doing these past few years. The mess they're in all stems back from Martin O'Neill's unlimited cheque book. Him, Harry Redknapp and Mark Hughes are experts in ways how to ruin clubs.

Southampton sign Gaston Ramirez from Bolgona for £12 million. A club record signing.

Santa Cruz moves to Malaga on a season loan from Man City

Edinson Cavani will stay at Napoli after signing a five-year contract

Ramirez signing is great for Southampton. Imagine there's a lot more to the deal than agent and chairman connections... for what it is worth I think he's a good player, but not quite good enough to be playing for a big club yet. More Everton/Newcastle level than Chelsea/Manchester United. Big gamble, to stay in the Premier League, reckon it might work for them. Same goes for Carroll and West Ham.

I'm in complete shock and so disappointed with Liverpool. It was clear all last season that we desperately lacked goals

So what do we do? Sell Maxi, Kuyt, Bellamy and loan Carroll out when those four players made up a large amount of our goals last season

This may sound like I'm exaggerating, but I honestly think we'll find ourselves in the bottom half of the table for most of the season. Borini is unproven at this level and Suarez needs 100 chances before he can score. I just don't know where the goals are going to come from

I dunno, don't think we'll do that badly and a lot of Liverpool fans are badly over reacting. We're missing an out and out goalscorer, but I'm pretty sure Rodgers doesn't really play with a proven striker. Got a good 18 man squad, just not enough for 70 games. Don't think we'll get Top 4, but we'll be in the mix, we're too good not to be. I just guess that German youth kid striker will play more than people may have liked.. probably Sterling, Joe Cole too. Shelvey/Henderson will probably play as wide forwards aswell.

Bigger issue for me is poor administration levels why we let a striker go out without being reliant on other transfers going through. The only reason we didn't get Dempsey was the guy announced his desire to leave, the bloody moron. Got his big move, but pleased Liverpool played hardball instead of being mugged off. Even if £5m + add ons is a good deal for the lad.

Our starting XI's league goals last season:

Suarez: 11 Borini: 9 Gerrard: 5 Allen: 4 Skrtel: 2 Agger: 1 Johnson: 1 = 33 goals

Dempsey alone scored 17 goals

It was a no brainer and would have given us that much needed increase in goal threat. Yes it's nice that we're being a little more wary, but the last day of the transfer window where we desperately needed a forward isn't the time to play hard ball
